  • Clutch Problems

    Hi guys,

I've been searching this forum for a trouble like mine.

I've recently installed a new SPEC stage 3 clutch kit. The kit included ; clutch / bearing / pressure plate and alignement tool.

I put the clutch on the right side ( trans side ).

The problem is, when I reassembled the tranny, started the car, there was no pressure on the clutch pedal, ans the clutch won't release and won't come back when at the floor. The only way to get the car moving is to put it in 1st gear and start it after.

I bleed the system more than once, no air. It seems like the slave cylinder doesn't push far enough. But there no pressure on the clutch pedal. My fork still straight and the pivot is like new.

I changed the slave cylinder for a new one.. Same issue. The only way i founded to disengage the clutch was to attach a bender on the fork and torque it until it disengage. That worked.

Is it fluid related, or trouble Inside the bellhousing ?

I know i might not be the only one, but I need to find the way to fix it fast.

    Thanks

Had the same issue with my 93GTST and SPEC S2+. There is a bleeder at the clutch master, then the branch tube, then the slave. Get an assistant to bleed all 3 in that order. Then you must adjust your pedal to accomodate the lower sitting pressure plate. Loosen prevention nut on the master rod and thread the rod out of the pedal into the master untill only 2 or 3 threads are visible while Pressing on the pedal periodically to see if you are getting a pedal. As soon as you feel you are getting somewhere stop and check that you can push your slave back into its bore by hand. You can also do this with the fork still on the slave rod. The slave rod MUST move back at least 4-5mm. If it does not you are way too close to the pressure plate and will burn out your release bearing. Dont forget to tighten prevention nut on the pedal/master rod. Let me know if that works. BTW should have changed the pivot as the S3 pressure plate pressure will destroy it. NISMO is only $40. Also, not a very good idea to bend the fork....sounds like it might crack along with the pivot ball...if not already. Good luck.
