  • rb25 problems

I swapped a Rb25det into an s13 not to long ago with freddy intake mani(new), random BOV on hot pipe, greddy large intercooler, r32 fuel filter (new), walbro 255 fuel pump(new), it drove fine but would bogg up and sometimes even stall after high rpms, it idles fine just under 1000 when its warm. at night the car would be notorious for stalling and sputtering between 3500 - 4000 rpm. i suspected the maf sensor, but i haven't swapped it for a new one instead i tried cleaning it. a month ago after a 3 hr drive on the highway the car would now hesitates during acceleration, might be the TPS but I am getting the proper readings the manual says

    long story short

Car acts funny in the night
    boggs/stalls after high RPM
Now recently will not accelerate without hesitation/misfire

    Thanks

With those mods the engine requires a retune. Z32 ECU with Nistune + Z32 MAF + wired in plug on low budget. But with front facing intake plenum, Link or ViPEC ECU would be best (individual cylinder fuel, ignition trim feature), as not each runner flows correctly on some front facing intake plenums.

Stalling, bogging, hesitation points to atmosphere vented BOV or TPS is not set on idle contact or idle contact voltage if later model RB25DET engine (kicks rpm up to prevent rpm needle dropping below idle rpm and engine stalling).

Possibly have a lazy o2 sensor as well (clogged by engine running too rich) and makes ECU make engine stay rich longer (popping flames sound from exhaust). Popping sound from exhaust = o2 sensor failure or engine running too rich.
