  • Emanage ultimate for neo engie ?!

    hey guy !
Last night I was wiring the emanage ultimate into my harness and i was thinking "do i need the ignition adapter for the neo ?"
I'll be running the neo in my r32 , 300zx ecu with modified harness for s1 rb25det. My plan is to run it with a set of ls1/ls2 coils pack.
The #parts im talking about is 15921500 from greddy. Can someone tell me what it exactly does ?
    Thanks

I didn't look up the part but I'm pretty certain your are talking about the harness that will allow you to control ignition timing using Emanage. The LS2 coils don't need any electronic backup apart from a properly made harness. The answer will depend on your desired level of tune and mods. If you are planning to run a much bigger turbo with injectors and all other supporting mods, then yes you would want ignition control, however the other issues you will have achieving proper WOT fueling (ultra rich cold maps, hard starting/cranking, generally wild A/F's) using just Emanage would have me inclined to tell you to go another route all together (Nistune or full stand alone ecu). If you plan to just use the stock injectors/turbo and want to tweak the A/F's slightly for what ever mods you currently have, then I wouldn't say that changing stock ignition maps would be required at all. Ultimately all piggy-back style systems have very limited, poor control over the ECU and send conflicting signals to your control system which will react in other ways to counter these signals (eg. you decrese MAF signal to remove fuel but that will also advance timing as computer assumes much lower load, if your trying to control bigger injectors for examples... leading to detonation or worse).. I can go on, but what is your ultimate 'tuning goal' and desired set up?

The 'ignition adapter' im talking about is needed to remove the Engine light when wiring the EMU on a r34..thats why I dont know if I need it. I had a budget thats why I choose THIS piggy back , because I can remove the MAF and run a MAP instead.
I'll running 1000cc Injector , custom made intake , custom made top mount , s363, ls2 coils ,water meth , planning to put down 500whp on a standard neo block (tomei camshaft , arp stud , cometic head gasket and more .. )
