  • Intake manifold spacer/fuel heater?

So I took my intake mani off today to replace some coolant hoses and stuff, and when I got the manifold off I found this.... Fuel heater? Coolant heater thing? It has coils running all the way across that sit directly in front of the injectors. I have absolutely no idea what it is or if it is stock or after market, and just want to find out if I can take it off. It hasn't been plugged in as long as I've owned the car so I don't see why not. I'm just more curious than anything.

Fuel heater most likely...never seen anything like it though. Looks like coils are clean where fuel was sprayed...

Yeah I took it off today and attached the cables to a 12v battery and it got insanely hot and started smoking. So I think I'll keep it off.

I can't see how that would help at all... its busting up your injector spray and if its getting that hot, it might be combusting some of your intake charge before the spark event... all together es no bueno amigo!

Exactly!! Like no matter how you look at it it's pretty much useless, if not actually hindering my engine.
