Rb25 series 1 motor, with series 2 wiring and coilpacks?

Hey guys,

I had a series 2 motor in my car last year but blew the motor. Looks like the only decent motors i can find right not are series 1 (1993). Is it possible to drop the new motor in and use the series 2 wiring, ecu and coilpacks? I have the throttle body, maf and ect. off the old motor so i think it would work.

It will work, in fact the whole inlet manifold with injectors and tps etc will bolt straight on. The only difference MAY be the key way on the end of the s2 exhaust cam, in which case you'll need to use the s2 cam angle sensor.

You can also do the same to run a neo motor, although the non neo tune isn't ideal.
