  • Vinyl and Fabrick Paint for seats

Hi, I bought a gtr seat that need a little refresh.

I wonder if the Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabrick Paint would do the job ?

I was thinking to change the color to black.

does anyone have an experience with vinyl paint ?
plus, does it leave stain on clothes ?

    thank you

Contact Marus92. He did it. I believe he was happy with the results.

Well I picked the right time to log in haven't I? Yes I've tried it and I've fleshed out the procedure in my build thread. What you need to consider is that:

      1. You need the fabric to be as RAW as possible, and by that I mean don't use cleaners with stain repellents as they'll reduce adhesion. Steam is the obvious choice.

      2. Go in thick wet sloppy layers. Opposite to painting, you need to saturate the surface so that it'll really penetrate into the fabric. Thin layers just make a crust. You can rub it in too (I did so, it uses more paint because you rub some off but it might be worth the added penetration).

      3. Be aware that it isn't especially durable if you're using the seat often. Since its a surface treatment, it'll rub off.

      4. It doesn't stain. It rubs off in a very dry manner.

      5. If your car is a GTS I suggest going into lighter shades as the black will take an unholy amount of dye.

Hi thank you for the answer.
I finally cleaned the seat and it looks good.

Regarding what you said I'm a bit afraid to paint the seat, I'll probably keep them like they are.
The seat is a gtr so it far from being black.
