I really don't see your clean GTR with a blue tip cannon dude lol (love raw titanium though, don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite finishes)

It's certainly the one thing I don't like about that system.
I look at it like a mole on a supermodels face...

freakin loled! That's 1 thing that makes me hesistate a lot 'bout this... I like the badass look and sound of my old school blitz nur spec... That shinny with blue thing isn't my style... I'd buy it just for the weight saving... i don't know how my blitz weighs compared to the oem... prolly the same?
My sky got 99 problems but to find bitches ain't one

I wonder if the "blueing" could be polished off?

I think it's heat treated to that finish, like overheating steel and seeing blue but without the detrimental effects. Nothing stopping you from welding a new tip on, just gotta find a decent titanium welder

Looked in googles a bit and titanium welders usually have to use special hoods on the welding tip to prevent heat spreading and blueing the weld area as blueing means oxidation which renders the area brittle.

So yes it has ill effects and it's only used for looks here as they typically blue the thicker (and unbent) canisters. Also google points towards being able to rub it off with abrasive polish.

See how clean the rest of the welds in the bends are? Just wish they'd stop doing that flashy crap.
