  • Can you take your importer to court?

Can you take your importer to court if you found proof in your car that it had more km? than what they are claiming it does and advertising it ?

I think that would fall under false advertising?

I guess it depends.. it's maybe the owner of the car who rolled back the cluster, not the importer. Anyway, you know when you buy a JDM that you should not trust the cluster if you ain't got no paper to prove the mileage.

They were telling me that it only had 16000km on it and all this and no it only does and stuff. But under the drivers seet there was a bag with Japanese inspection Forms that Show it has 130000km on it. Can i do anything about this?

i bought the car friday And i just found the papers like an hour ago when i was cleaning up some stuff.

I sent him an email about it and what not. He also told me that the compression accross it was perfect 170 but i did a check and its 125 130 accross.

I would go back and make a scene. If you have written documentation of what they said it was, you can do something about it. If its just word of mouth, its their word against yours.

Wow with those compression #'S its time for a rebuild too. Sorry to hear that. If it comes to the worst just use a can of gas and a match to their office.

those posted pics on there website, save them as well as anyother listing, print it off and show them this BS...

if the cluster had been swapped out at anytime your arguement could be pointless since they may or may have not known the kms...

chances are they would play dumb... best thing you can do is raise hell, talk to a lawyer, and the police, make a formal note of it... just incase anything happens to you or to them... its better to have as much info as you can...

the most you will get from this is prolly a big fat nothing...

but if you can proove that they were dishonest, and they do nothing for you, then plaster there name in every board as a shop not to be trusted because you have proof that they do such unethical busniess

i don't know what the laws are in alberta but if i sell a car here in nb. and advertise the odometer as true i have to backe it up. if i have any doubt about the reading at all or the person/dealer/auction will not confirm the reading i have to sell the car as mileage unknown.the odometer problem by itself should be enough for compensation or reversal of the deal, if not the compression problem should be more than enough.
