Skymeet WEST 2014

Skymeet West will not be happening- this year.

We tried making the event large scale with sponsers, a track, prizes etc etc. That ended up costing us $4500 when everyone bailed.

This year I changed it to a $30 admission fee while still maintaining sponsers and prizes and trophies, a dyno, a BBQ and still people complained.

I then toned it down as much as I possibly could do a $5 BBQ and for everyone to show up and meet, and no one wanted that either.

This event has been met with no much negativity and ignorance is it not worth putting on. All I ever wanted from the start was a venue for all Skyline and import cars to meet and shoot the **** over a BBQ. As friends. Unfortunately it was has become clear that is not possible with this crowd. It is truly disappointing as I really felt this event had a ton of potential.

Hey guys, before this keeps going I wanted to ask the group someonthing.

How broad do you want to make this event? Skymeet is awesome, but are we wanting to branch off at all and include other Nissan's? Examples are related cars like Silvia's and Stagea's.

I was thinking any car is welcome as long as it has an RB engine. That way unique cars with RB engine swaps are welcome. Thoughts?

I say hell yea....anything with a hamburger on it is welcome. We can definately make it a Skyline themed Nissan fest north.


I will try my best to come...I can't book off this weekend so I won't put my name on the list..but I will try like hell.

I would for sure open it up.. Its Skyline Themed but open to whatever imports.

Alright, if that's what everyone thinks (And I agree):

We will open the event up to all Nissan's and any vehicle with an RB swap. However, trophies will only be eligible for Skylines, and when we do the photo shoot we will get some pictures with the entire group, but I want a 'Skyline's only' picture too.

Please help me spread the word everyone. Word of mouth is always the most effective. Please help get the notice out for Skymeet
