Naca hood vents

I really want to have an R34 V-spec II copy so I'd be ready to shell out for it. It's not about cost, it's more about having exactly what I want and not having to buy another vent and/or hood in the long run, I want to do it right the first time.

I bought it from ebay UK, it was about 125 USD shipped, but I'm leery of using it because my ebay carbon grill suffered from clearcoat fading quick. I'm thinking I might have this one re-cleared before I install it, if I do at all.

if you do ever install it, please make a small write up about it, i'd like to know how much work is required to make it fit correctly

ugh, i'm seriously thinking of buying a 2nd hood, putting 2 naca ducts on it and aerocatch pins, hmmm maybe next year

The problem with cheaper carbon stuff like that is that they use really cheap clears that appear milky white under the sun, and fade quickly.

That's exactly what I'm worried about, my carbon grill did that after only a few weeks of having it on the car. I'm thinking maybe I can get the duct re-cleared with some UV resistant clear before installing it maybe. And Frank, it's not really that big, just the perspective of the shot makes it look that way. I just snapped another pic next to a ruler for a better idea of the dimensions.

but what if water gets in, not good to have water in the engine bay,
how are they fitted on R35 hoods i wonder

If you'Re running no coil pack cover or a machined oned I could see a problem, but if not it will probably vaporize before it touches something critical

but in the rain, its going to flood the engine bay
lets say i place 2 ducts on either side, over the intake mani and exhaust mani,
the intake might not mind the water, but the exhaust.....

anyway, water splashing on all the electric connectors..ugh..

seeing how our bodylines are slopping to the front, and the NACA duct has its opening in the rear, you won't have water entering the bay unless the car is moving.

I'd be more worried about rain collecting in storage than whilst driving.

How would water entering from the ducts differ from being thrown up from a puddle on the road?

but a puddle isn't constant like rain
