if you arent about to spend 300+ on an EBC, then find a Turbosmart MBC for 100.00 then dial it down. The best route is the EBC but expensive

If you want inexpensive, get the MBC but you will need a new a/m boost gauge since stock will become inaccurate and you dont want to spike due to overboosting. EBC's is the way to go but its expensive. You can get used HKS EVC 4's or older models for like two hundred bucks or so on ebay.

1 bar (14psi) is the maximum I would go given the fact the stock turbos are ceramics and can shear off. A cheap way to get 14 psi, is to cut the yellow restriction band located at the boost soleniod, wouldn't recomend it though.....

Rb26 are strong engines cause of the cast iron block and when brand new the internals could support 600hp with no problems but because of the age, mileage of the motor and it depends on the condition of your engine, its hard to say. Compression test is recommended.

                PSI is meaningless.

                28 PSI from a GT47-88 is a lot more power than a GT35R

                  You have a GTR correct?

If you have a boost gauge and ONLY if you have a boost gauge, do the following.

                  Buy one of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/R-Spec-BOOST-CON...3286.m63.l1177

Run hose from both your wastegates and tee them togethor. Run from that "T" to the boost controller, and from there to the manifold.

Start with the boost controller ALL THE WAY OPEN. SloWLY and I mean slowly start tightening it while doing quick spurts on a road to see where your boost is. (this is why you need a boost gauge)

Wind you boost up to no more than 12-14 PSI and leave it a lone.

I ran one of these on my car and it worked like a charm. NO spike, NO creep and spooled up faster than just running off the wastegate (as there is no pressure going to the gate until you reach your set boost, resulting in the gate staying completley closed until then. Normally with a bit of pressure it would start opening and low boost)
