  • Safety Needed

    I need a safety for an S14.

1 Small rust hole in frame
2 Small rust holes on rockers

Thats the ONLY problems, flexlines and burnt out lights have all been replaced.

The car can't be driven due to no insurance because of no safety.

If you will safety it PM me with how much you charge.

A real one, however if it's fake I could care less.

A safety was done last month and all the problems were fixed with the exception of the rust holes due to the cost to have to fix them.

this is a SAFETY inspection! I think if you want to remain SAFE, you should get one. Thats like renting a boat and asking to hold the life jackets ashore...

I mean if you want scrap DOT lights or something like that...be my guess, but I would suspect your own personal safety is worth more than a rust hole..

go to a small town place, unless the frame is totally rotten most places wont fail it for some small rust holes. If its just tiny holes I woudlnt call it unsafe.

ok, so, im the on with the s14, i have gone to a local place in whitby to get my safety done not long ago, they said i need to patch those holes 5cott mentioned, 1 bulb for the plates, flex line in right rear, pads in rear, and flex line clip in front left. thats all. Frame is still real nice. not even close to rotten. just a few lil problems.
the holes themselves are small, not something to be consered about, by not patching them aint gonna risk my life here. i do plan on patching them (proper weld job) but im not wasting hundreds for a shop to do it, when i could take it to my school's shop and do it for nothing, BUT to get it to that shop i need a safety so i can get it registered and driving on the road. the brake stuff and flex lines, and bulb have all been fixed/replaced myself. so im looking for some1 who could give get me a safety, so i can register the car, and get it to my shop in spring and fix the holes properly. (spring cuz i dont plan on winter driving, already stored.)

and thing is i cant take it to a place, cuz i cant drive it.

All you need is insurance on the vehicle and they will give you plates. Then you can just grab a temp sticker and drive the car up to your school for the repairs.

You can only get a trip permit if the vehicle
                    a) has a safety
                    b) is being purchased from somebody and the vehicle was safetied in their name (ie: THEIR ownership says PAS-FIT on the top).

You no longer need a safety or e-test to get a temp sticker, but you can only get two per year now. My suggestion to you is to get it CAA'd to Marty down at M R Automotive and have him path up the rail - he cut/replaced my front Z32 rail for a decent price and I'm sure can help you out too, he's a great guy to deal with.

Unfortunately you're in a tight situation with getting a temp sticker for your plates unless you recently purchased the car. Also, chances are your insurance will want a copy of the safety before they will insure the car (they usually do this on older cars - depends on your company though).

Any talks of ILLEGALLY obtaining a safety certificate will result in the thread being deleted and you receiving a warning/temp-ban/ban (discussion of illegal activities is not condoned here). And let's face it... it's not like it's a cash-grab e-test... it's a safety.

Also, Marty is a fair guy and if it's as minor as you say it is, he may not see a big deal with it as long as it's structurally sound (my Z32's front rail was ROTTED). Only benefit you have going back to wherever safetied it is that they don't charge you again since it's basically just a visual inspection to make sure the repairs were completed.

PM me if you need the contact information / location of M R Automotive.

                    Cheers.
