  • Electronic Boost controller...which one

I have a Blitz SBC-R, or I should say most of it, but some lovely fellow decided the head unit was his at Kawasaki port, and promptly removed it from my car. I need to figure out if I should get a new SBC-R of that vintage and have a spare solenoid should the other wear out, or just go for a new one.

Also, if anybody could shed some additional light on the PFC and the benefits of it's boost control system, my googling abilities appear to be lacking.

All opinions are appreciated, be it first hand experience, hearsay, or even the ever popular armchair expertise.

    Thanks in advance.

i liked my profec B spec 2, really easy to setup and use. i also thought it was really really reliable and accurate and had the warning feature also.

From what I understand from what I have read on SAU forum, it seems if you run a boost restrictor or adjustable valve to not let the single solenoid boost controllers stress out, fail, the single solenoid boost controllers seem to be ok.

I think it was mentioned in this thread -

The dual solenoid Blitz or HKS boost controllers are said to be the best for higher boost levels. If you search on SAU forum, there's a thread showing the gains from the Blitz dual solenoid boost controller that is mentioned in above link.

Profec B II seems to be good, going by that boost curve shape on dynograph -

Ive been using an HKS EVC IV and so far it has been good and reliable for me, its kind of nice to have 2 boost settings for wet/dry conditions ....scramble boost comes in handy aswell

I have this Blitz SBC-R one install in my R3 right now..

no idea what to do with it..

change things doesnt seem to do anything..

the thing will boost for like 3 seconds and then get all choppy..

              its annoying as hell.

                            agreed.
my friend has a older blitz one, so much easier than the profec B. have a few buttons for hi/low, manual, then one for gain and one for boost level. it drove me nuts having to press the button 20 times just to get to one thing.
