Essentially someone we know is no more allowed to sell the parts he does from the main manufactures as RHD Japan is or any other company located in Japan/International. This is due to the circumvention of local dealers. This is in place to protect dealer networks and it ended up biting me in the ass now.

Unfortunately this was due to RHD Japan's Dealer status being questioned and in turn, being compared to other dealers who, may be authorized, may not properly follow the Region or Territoties as set out by their Dealer Status agreements.

I think this has actually done us all a favour and as I suggested in a previous thread, all dealers should take this time to provide us with Documentation that proves their ellegibility as Dealers and representatives of the maufacturers they sell for, so that we, the BUYERS, CAN BE BETTER PROTECTED in the future and not fall victim (such as what happened to Mcfly) to buying parts that are Grey Market.

We all need protection and this is a perfect opportunity, since the door has already been opened for us, with the finger pointing back at RHD Japan....we should all take the time to ensure we are buying from authorized sources.

Consumer protection is something we should all take very seriously.

Let's not all end up like Mcfly and his grey market clutch.....let's take a stand now !

Everyone just check your ego's at the door and pick them up as you leave. When noobs ask noob questions dont jump down their throats like douche bags. Help them out, everyone here was a noob at some time.

GTRC has been a huge help either fixing problems with my car or trying to find parts. This site has also saved me a TON of money as i'm sure it has to many others.

So like Daryl said lets keep GTRC the way it used to be and keep the negativity off the boards.

            i agree with this.
without GTRC im sure almost every skyline in canada would all have a 2000rpm idle

whats wrong with a 2000rpm idle?
I remember the first question about my rear diff when I first got my car. I thought something was broken with it, but luckily I got a fast reply from GTRC and found out it was normal.

I've noticed that generally, most of the attitude and useless postwhoring seems to stem from the non-Skyline owners trolling this board.

Strange how that works out and I'm sure in the posts to follow, there will be an outcry but that's just what I've noticed recently.

                      Two quotes come to mind...

First, to those who insist on pointing fingers at other people...
                      "...First, know thyself" - Socrates

Second, to those who insist on behaving badly, which includes, but is not limited to:
                      - saying things just because you believe them to be true, even if they create a negative value in the community. (Just because it's true doesn't mean you should say it!)
                      - wilfully creating conflict, particularly for sport.
                      - the obvious - name calling, post whoring, etc skyline owner or not...

"... Whatever a man sows, that shall he reap." Jesus of Nazareth

The modern paraphase "What comes around goes around." works too, but source is way less authoritative.

Here's to GTRC continuing to set the standard for online car forums!

                      Cheers,

Im all for creating a good community where everybody is happy about everything all the time, but this is the real world man.

I don't think avoiding truth is the way to go about it. Somebody has a bad experience with a vendor on here it should be their right for them to call that vendor out on it and have the vendors defend themselves fairly in an open forum. Why should the rest of us suffer from buying shotty or unwarantied parts in the future? Even if it is at the cost of a slight bit of negativity on the intraweb. Buyer beware just doesn't cut it for me, so i like to read those negative threads so it doesn't happen to me down the road sometime.

Also, I realize the sponsors pay a lot of money to be sponsors on here, but I don't believe that Mods should have their back no matter what. When I joined this site it was not for profit... I don't like the way things are going.

Having said that, I think there may be a few to many posts telling people to use the search function. if you don't want to answer the noobs question, don't post at all.

I think calling out vendors on the forum should be a last resort. Keeping conflicts to pms and personal e-mails untill everything is resolved will work 9 times out of 10.

As far as telling noobs to use the search...well I'd say the best thing to do is politly do so and maybe even link one of the existing threads on the given topic. This way we can reduce clutter and still keep the forum enviting to new members.

Neither do I. However, I will stongly assert that truth is a necessary component of any contructive critism, but is not a sufficient reason alone to post something.

You'd be amazed how little money is actually involved with sponsorship. It's certainly below the price of the average mod's integrity.

We don't have the sponsors back half as much as you think. All the MODs at one time or another have had to delete, edit or reprimand some sponsors just as much as some members.

The difference is the sponsors don't usually come back to pick fights because of their profesional image.
