  • Buying a case of Royal Purple; Which grade ??

I was thinking about picking up the 10w30 grade of Royal purple for my BNR32 mainly stock with a big of drag.. What do you thing ? is it okay?

Why RP? well ,when you buy a case of 12 bottle, it's the same price as anything else. So..

yeah I was wondering if the grade was good.

While browsing their website, I found they sell XPR racing oil. should I buy this instead?

it all depends on the application , will u be winter driver you car? or are you just going to be using it for track/"vigorous " driving? or even just a 3/4th out the year DD? that will spell out what oil u shoudl be using

Wow! That is a pretty harsh statement. Curious to know what information you have to be able to make that kind of comment?

he is not asking for personal statements. he is asking people that have informed information, which you obviously do not. just because some dude told you his opinion in the past that royal purple is bad you go around spreading that same crap info. have you ever actually looked into backing up your statement with really factual data? didnt think so

edit: BTW i have a friend that runs nothing but second run(yes used) oil from at work in his skyline. hes a personal friend of mine and hes been doing so for as long as he has owned his car. in the ~5 years ive owned my car i have never used anything but the recommended mobile 1 5w50. my car is blown up and his is still running like a champ. Also i talked to a so called performance shop when my cars engine went toast. they told me the reason my bearings went was because i use mobile 1, no it wouldnt have been because my car was 3.5 liters down on oil from blow by! also, even though mobile 1 is a factory standard in most new cars and it is used stricktly in many facets of racing. they even went as far as to call it "redneck hick sh!t"... thats just bogus rumours at its best. which is exactly the same as what you just did..

10w30 or 10w40 is almost the same without any diff in performance? Anyone used Gunk 5 minute motor flush fluid prior to an oil change?

I am curious to know as well. I have been using Mobil 1 5w30 for some time and it works great. I just need to try RP as I just recently changed my tranny fluid to RP.

10w30 RP. I read an article about a year ago where they tested leading oil brands. Royal Purple cleaned up. There's probably a link on this website for that somewhere, but I dunno where it would be.

Edit: the link is dead, it was on Mcfly's gtrpwr originally.
Looking for cheap parts? supguyex (Jon) is parting out his car. Good prices, good guy.

i used it and figured it broke down very fast, amsoil last's a really long time, therefore i think its better.
i apologize for making an uneccesary post...
