I'm the same. I've got a track about 45 mins. away. That's when the car gets "used".

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Drive it like a sane human being on the street, maybe give a wiener next to me some wastegate every now and again... With a car so unique it helps to drive like everyone else on main streets, police take notice that you aren't an idiot and are less inclined to be jackasses about nothing. If you do get pulled over, a clean record helps you avoid a "nit picking ticket"... When I get the need for speed I hit the tracks

I've been called a pussay before too, but my insurance is cheap (20 year old Albertan standards) and my driving record flawless. If being a pussay gets me that, then yes I am in fact, and will remain, a pussay

I would like to compete in open road racing, where you run even higher speeds legally -

Downunder, open road speeds can vary (depending on area) or sometimes slower on tight corners. When you slow down at end of run, feel your heart beating.

Open road speeds are mentioned here -

NZ has similar speed limits, but goes up to 100km/h.

When Im in traffic or the usuall vancouver slow going any where or in the city I try drive the speed limit and be nice to other drivers, old ladys crossing the street, I think it helps a bit with the RHD image people think of

when Im out of the city and there is no one around I drive it like I stole it

Alot of people say the same thing about me. I baby the **** out of my cars. Around town I usually am shifting around 3k rpm. I figure my car is putting down about 300 at the wheels which isn't a whole lot of power but its enough to get you in trouble quickly if your driving like an idiot on public roads. Not to say I never open it up, say I pull up to a highway on ramp and there isn't a car in sight I'm probably going to see how fast I can get to the speed limit. At the end of the day its a sports car and thats what its built for. Endangering my life is one thing, endangering others is completely different. Not to mention I like having my license.

JDMricer - very well played. At the end of the day it is a sports car so giving it a shot once in awhile when you are in a area that is not endangering the public is fine. We all love the feeling of mashing the right pedal and listening to the turbos spool up, just make sure youre in a enviroment where you can get away with it with out risking other peoples lives. I love my GTR and respect it alot,my gf thinks more then her. but Im still not afraid to punish it when the opportunity arrises. its built to be driven hard - so thats what it gets - daily.

                100% Ditto'd

No Skyline for me, but @260-270hp my Celica is no slouch. I know what it can do, and I know when it's not appropriate to do it.

Pretty much sums up my experience. I try and make the RHD image look good... same thing with letting the old ladies cross the road, waving people through stop signs when "who was there first" is questionable, etc.

To "live it up" a little more I'm probably going to track it next year a couple times... drags a few nights and hopefully join a track for some time trials...
