  • Where do you guys get your tires?

I was just doing a forum search and trying to find some good deals on tires for a set of wheels I picked up. I didn't seem to find any concrete info on where to get some good deals, if there are any to be had. It doesn't seem like a popular subject. It seems very "hush hush" and I'm sure we all go through many sets on this forum.

It would be much appreciated if people can post where they buy they're tires at good rates. Maybe we can enlighten the community as well (or me at least). I'm located in Toronto.

I got my Nitto 555's at MTC in Oakville. Not a bad price, not a great price, but just didn't have the patience to do the stateside thing.

tirerack is the best bet unless you have hook up locally.

It seems like tirerack is the place to go. I wish they shipped to Canada.

Why is it that we are all getting raped on rubber north of the border? It truly is more than double on certain makes and models. Are there no other dealers within Canada like tirerack?

They do ship to Canada, its just cheaper if you can cross the border to pick them up.

Tirerack do ship to Canada and they only charge you a flat rate of $20 for brokerage, they do such a good job they even collect the tire levy (environmental fees), GST, PST, and tariff if applicable on behalf of the governments.

Tirerack is a good place to start but like any keen shopper you should check and compare prices and do all the calculations. Don't forget about warranties and mounting and balancing cost. If you buy tires locally you might end up paying $20 to $50 more per tire but they might mount and balance for free or discounted, some places even offer free tire rotations, flat repairs and/or free road hazard replacement in case your tire is damaged beyond repair.

I buy at Tirecraft or fountain tire depending on the make. They install is mega cheap ($300 if I supply my own tires, $40 if they supply). Balancing, repairs and blowout replacements are free. If you buy from tire rack, you save a few hundred but in the end, if you need a patch or anything, you're spending more. I have a friend who owns a tire business out of his garage but he won't sell or tough low profile cause they're annoying and the machines are expensive, plus I live in a truck town and cadillacs with 24" rims lol.

Cant beat tirerack,I got 4 tires (RT615) for little more than the price of 2 tires here and I paid all the taxes and such, they collect everything in one payment so you just collect your tires when they come nothing more to pay.
