will do, i did a nice big write up for them on exactly what went down. If i settle off the record with them privatly i'm going for my $238 dollars back and another $255 which is the retail replacement cost for that optima battery they somehow took out, got a quote from another company in town. If i get more great but thats my minimum. Otherwise ya small claims and going to court for sure.

I was talking to my business partner's dad who's a cop in town and he was saying that if it went to court i could get him to pay all the court fees also and as long as i can back up a potential 1000-2000 value get that back also. But we'll see if it has to go that far, if i got my 500 bucks i'd be happy. Just hope to god nothing else goes wrong.

i had an almost bad expeirence with my gf's dd at a kal tire once... they tried to sell her 1 used winter tire for 150$ + install+ taxes... she phones me up asks what to do i told her to GTFO right away and go somewhere else... lol

but due to that experience i sent a letter to HQ and got a phone call with in one day and they offered me 50% off my next purchase of 4 tires and free mount and balance... i respectfully declined and i now take my DD's else where for summer and winter tires

ya i'm with you there for sure. If things don't go to plan, which they might not, found out the manager is a total prick. I'll be sending letters to HQ letters to the editor, we have a radio station that does this thing called pissed off tuesdays where u call in and complain about stuff. I'll make them hurt.

I see people mentioning the rev limiter all over the place in these threads... but why?

I can understand that it's a piss off some stranger beating on your car (I had a mechanic take my car to near redline several times, with me in the car before. I was pissed.)

But at the same time... would you rather the guy stood on the gas pedal and bounced off the rev limiter over and over asking himself "Why the hell is this car not going like it should?"

Sounds like a worse idea. I like to hang out while my car gets worked on. Even then, it's only been in a shop ONCE since I've owned it, and only because I didn't have time to replace the leaking coolant line before I left for Osoyoos that evening. If I ever do drop it off again, I'll document everything to the tit, and then even inform the shop that I've done so. That way they know I'll know, and that I clearly take that seriously.

under normal circumstances no one touches my car but this one hear i couldn't get the time off work. Best i could do was having a place a block away. In a case like that i would totally set a rev limiter. As far as i'm concerned they can stand on a rev limiter at 3 grand all day far better than having my car raped up the ass

km would give you a case.. Saying gas gauge went down a 1/8th of tank is very subjective...If he went for a spin around the block or on highway to check for shake you can't really do much.. But if it says he went 20+ km then you have a point etc..

If your optima is fine now and holding a charge not much you can do..no harm no foul.. But if it is not holding a charge and junk now that would be worth getting re embursed for..

As far as alignments.. No one in this town wants to do camber kits.. And they usually charge over regular price when faced with extra work..as a result..

I can't remember if you said they called and said your estimate was increased.. If they didnt thats bad management on their part, and you could bring that up as you were not notified of the additional charges that you would incur thus you shouldnt be stuck with a much higher bill... that would be the direction i would take...Going in there guns blazing threatening with court wont get you anywhere..He will call your bluff..

boost controller again is subjective you cant prove what level it was on...

no doug downtown did my VI, had to go to the VV one to get the alignment done. I just had a big sit down with him and we're throwing a lot of the crap aside and he said he'd pay for a transmission rebuild for my second gear that grinds a bit now. Probably won't do any form of rebuild for a while but i'll see pretty quick here how much he's willing to give me now that i have a written quote in my hand

haha so i got him a quote for a tranny rebuild, probably won't do it for one hell of a while but as far as getting cash from him. I just handed him a bill for $1430 So he asked for a day to think about it and i'll know the result tomorrow morning.

He was trying to come up with reasons that it wasn't something his mechanics did but i kept him on track so just a waiting game now

the fact that he is going along with it shows that he isnt such a douche bag or well, he is but know that somewhere along the line he or his shop was caught with a problem and will goto some lengh to fix it.

maybe it's more like, "ok ok you caught me, good job, pat on the back and let me right you a cheque."
