When you said they couldn't find the filter.... I hope you are not talking about where on the engine...

Is the oil filter just as horribly placed on the r33 rb26 as it is on r32 engines? I get ztune to do my oil changes because **** trying to do it myself. I did it the first time... Never again. At least not until I get an oil filter relocation kit.

so what did the Nissan techs think of the coolest Nissan never sold here?

You can't do the change youself? R33s are old expensive boats but still, they're cheap to do yourself

Make sure you put good oil in it. Not the generic **** they use as the stealership.

Honestly... go buy a 300zx filter, a 5$ oil pan, oil and do it yourself. You'll save like $30 and be done in a few minutes.

For local ease of access oil I recommend Mobil 1 Synthetic (grey with green label) 10w30

My Miata has the oil filter in the same location. It's really not that hard to get to on the RB. There's a bit of a trick to it... once you know, it's easy. Also, don't over tighten the filter for ease of removal next time.

the mr lube could not locate the oil filter on the actual engine.. it was quite funny,,, 3 of them looking around,,, trying to find skylinein their computers... told them they wouldn't find it.....
Tekada saved the day,,, just got back from them a little while ago... filter was somewhat seized,, had to do some strong arming to get it out...
Great shop,,, they stayed past closing to help me out...!!!!
