  • lottsa noobs ehh!!?

    hey!

just noticed something, and im wondering if any of the other senior GTR owners on here have noticed it too, its not a bad thing, just kind of funny.

every spring and start of summer, theres always a flood of the same old questions about skylines!... and i understand why... its because people sell their cars over winter, or before winter, and the new owners typically only start to try and figure things out when its necessary (I.E ... now! lol) so what happens is we all see a flood of questions on the forums...

we see things posted in completely random areas, wrong sections, etc... and all the usually oh, soo common questions like:

    - what oil and filter to use?
    - what light bulbs work in skylines?
    - whats the deal with the oil pump issue?
    - what brake rotors fit?
    - what steering and suspension components corss over from S13 etc like ball joints, tie rods...
    - is hicas any good?
    - how to remove stock boost restrictor?

ET-CETERA!!..... oohhh muuuyyyyy gooood use the search function! lol... i know a lot of people don't respond to these questions because they're so redundant so i usually try to answer the questions that i can, but im running out of time to come on here and teach the basics.

im not saying don't bother asking the questions guys,... its just kind of funny... we see the same thing every year ...lol

hmm , i not one of those guys that say "use search " a lot cause i know how fail the search option can be some times . but i think some one should make a sticky in the GTR and GTS sections called "for n00bs" or something that's full of basic ins and outs of daily skyline owner ship and how to use this forum properly .

hey josh, don't forget we were all newbs once,

i remember exactly 1 year ago, i didn't know crap about skylines and was posting newb questions everywhere i shouldn't

but know, i'm answering most of those question from newbs

its the circle of forum life

but there are still some GTRC regulars asking newb questions here (cobrAA, almost@1000posts) jk :P

I don't mind the newbies in here.. Sometimes its good to have them as we can sometimes learn from them too..

But good call on the sticky part so it will be accessible for everyone (newbies or not)

ya thats exactly what im saying... i looked back at some of my first threads i posted.. my god a lot of them were named rediculously... HAHAHA... have a look at some of these, these were my firsts.

some of the more basic things ive posted.,.,..lol

ya but i agree with what you're saying, its important that we answer these questions, because i remember feeling very discouraged when id get no response to a super basic question...

                  we gotta share the knowledge.
