perfect question Leespin... and fair too!

Oem brake fluid is fine for roads... but on the track where you alternate between intense acceleration and intense braking in short time periods, the brake fluid is going to got REALLY hot, really quick.

Oem fluid can heat up so much that it will literrally boil, it can leak, cause damage etc and worst of all, it doesn't work as good when it boils and can really fail.

I ran Motul RBF660 high temp brake fluid on a trackday last year, had ZERO issues with my brakes because of it...

things that will make a difference to the oem brake setup:

Stainless braided lines, good pads, good discs, high temp fluid and even a brake master cylinder stopper.

oh yah, as mentioned before, good tires.

Another thing is might be able to use a bigger brake master cylinder (internals are bigger diameter) from R33GTR or R34GTR. For non ABS R32 GTS Type-M Skyline I noticed you can use a 300ZX TT brake master cylinder (the same size brakes) which is said to be similar in diameter to R33GTR or R34GTR brake master cylinder internals.

When brake fluid overheats the brakes can fade. Even with my car on the street I run racespec Super Dot 4 brakefluid (600+ boiling point). I change it every 6 months or 10,000km (factory recommends every 12months which is wrong on a modified car). Changing every 3 months or 5000km is best but I find 6 months or 10,000km works on my car.

To know when brake fluid needs changing, have to feel via brake pedal. If it feels softer under foot and braking fades a bit, then brake fluid needs changing.
