car covers! any ideas?

im not just looking for winter storage here, im looking for daily use as well as winter storage.
I think robski hit the nail on the head with his comment "you get what you pay for", and tony i agree with you as the proper precautions make the world of difference!
Maybe i will hold off on the cover at least until its closer to storage time and then spend the big bucks. In the meantime it will sit in the rain when im not driving it.

i would have went down the car shelter route, but in maple ridge there is a by-law against having any non-permanent structures in the front yard/driveway.

1. Wash car
2. Let the car dry out inside and out
3. Put bounce everywhere
4. Put wire mesh in exhaust tip
5. Put car cover on
6. Tie down car cover securely if car is parked outside

I've had a CrappyTire one for years (was about 80$) and I've never had any rodents, mold or scratching issues. Car was sitting outside covered in snow on pavement. If you park it over grass expect humidity to go all over the place.

yeah i wish i had a place with a garage, and to be honest ive been looking for a new place to live just to accommodate my car. For now though its forced to a cover

I have a premium Simoniz one from CDN tire. think it was $89 last year, works great. Tacky, but I had the car tarped over as well, we have harsh winters here...

I heard tarping was really bad because it doesn't breath, there for it keeps all the moisture in?

well, the cars been covered for 6 months and I havent seen any issues. this is a buddys though, i dont see it too often. ive seen it with the covers off once, at it looked just as it did when it went under. we only have the top of the car tarped though. the hood/roof/trunk/windshields. everything else is covered by the car cover alone.

i was in lorco yesterday and they have a nice one that cost $260+. i wonder what the difference is between a simoniz $89 cover and another one that costs upwards of $260.
Could that be the difference between a degrading finish? I sure hope not.
