I have an old Super Street or Sport Compact mag with a step by step were they wrap a roof and trunk with real carbon fibre I'm considering going this route for my trunk and fibreglass hood.

There is a genesis here that did part of his hood, and in my opinion don't do it unless your throwing clear over top, because unless your right up to it, in the regular daylight it just looks like a matte finish.

I was going to wrap my trunk in this but after seeing the genesis' hood i'm glad i didn't.

        just my 2 cents.

Hey Anthony, what kind of car did the genius do the part wrap on, the usual p.o.s running around? By the way, I've seen you on Henderson now and then, pis don't do your car justice- looks awsome in person.

So I guess lots of heat and stretching the film tight is the answer? I used the hair dryer and it didn't seem to work great around the corners
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

Sharp corners are tough, youhave to use an xacto knife or similar to make a cut. The tutorial shows how iirc.

lol! I said Genesis, like Hyundai, not genius, he wrapped the middle part of the hood where it sticks out kind of.

And yeah I live on springfield, so I'm up and down henderson everyday, thanks for the compliment.

Hexis is a new line of vinyl to replace the 3m Di-noc in automotive 'carbon look' use. Since Di-noc's intended use is architectural (and indoor, cabinetry etc), it's not very malleable, and actually quite rigid, so working in tight corners is a real PITA. The new Hexis stuff is based on their scotchprint lineup, and is for automotive use. It's super soft, and easy to work with. Looks almost identical to the di-noc dry matte look. I've been using it a bit, and prefer it, but di-noc for large flat surfaces like that GTR is great. Hoods, trunks etc, go for it. interior trim, hexis ftw..

please do not confuse people Hexis is not a 3M product. Plus origionally Di-noc was interior architectural material. But there is drastic changes to that line in the last year. If you install correctly there is zero problem with longevity, installation or durability.

My bad. That was meant to say, "Hexis is a new line of vinyl to replace the 3m Di-noc." as far as competition goes. And it is actually considerably better than 3m.

I order di-noc from 3m religiously; same stuff as it's been since its release. I don't know how you can justify that it's vastly 'changed'.

I dont know. Dealing with 3M for 10 years. Having them come to our national convention as a guest speaker explaining to us the changes. Not to metion the fact that when 3M and Avery come out with new products for north america. They offer it to our franchise 6 months before the masses. We test it and report back directly to them. O and 3 guesses who the top store in the franchise is for testing new products and training across the country for aplication is?

                          Sorry man you asked.

                          That store btw is mine.

Hexis is a nice product. I prefer the 3M only because I prefer the dry carbon look. Have you noticed the new Orical carbon has virtually identical air egress channels. If lays up so close to the same as the 3M. Kinda fishy. Avery is still behind in this line of vinyl.
Have you used ACI Wrap film. There is simply nothing on the market like it. They started out as a father son team years ago. They oldman is a painter and they came up with a way to paint vinyl with Automotive paint. Ive done a few jobs with it. That looks like paint and tough to. Its all base clear. I wrapped my desktop mouse 4 years ago and it looks like I had it custom painted in House of Colors root beer. Very cool.
