    Thanks for clearing that up!

Do you plan to do any motorsports with the R34? Any more mods coming up? What's the weather like in your area? I cannot stand winter here. I HATE cold weather. I'd love to be able to drive my car all year around and partake in events.

It's pretty cold (down to 0 deg C) in the winter and gets quite hot in the summer (40 deg C). I love cold weather as it decreases the intake temps by a lot! haha. Yeah, I've done regular track work with my GTR's. A couple of friends and myself split the cost to hire out the track for an afternoon and just go nuts!

At the moment I'm looking at getting a surge tank set up because I'm running dry on hard right turns at under 1/4 tank

From how I remember in Vancouver.. it was either raining or drizzling almost every day of the year!

Haha I'd love for it to go to zero and not go under! I love the summers. Summers in Ontario are pretty good. This year was crazy hot. I'v never thought of it but getting a big group of friends to split on renting out the track would be too much fun. Definitely on the list of things for next year.

What kind of tyres are you running on the track? You must be getting a lot of G's in them corners. That's a great investment imo. You dont want to suck air in to the engine and cause major damage. What other upgrades are done to the car?

As far as mods go, I have twin HKS2530's sucking through K&N air filters. 260/9.15mm Tomei Poncam's sit in the head with HKS adjustable cam pulleys. Fuel is pumped by a Bosch 044 fuel pump to a HKS fuel rail and through HKS 680CC injectors. The 100,000km service was done when the car was imported at ~47,000kms with HKS timing belt and N1 water pump. The exhaust starts off with Tomei Expreme titanium exhaust manifolds and continues to a HKS dump/front pipe and HKS cat-back after the turbo. I'm using an Apexi Power FC D-Jetro with a HKS EVC controlling the boost. Power is sent to the drivetrain via a HKS GD Max twin plate clutch and lightened flywheel.

The car sits on Tein RA coilovers and 18x10.5 +15 TE37's wrapped in 285/35/18 semi-slicks.

With this set up it makes just under 450AWHP at 18PSI. It's plenty for the street and enough to have a blast around the track

What about yours bellis? I see from your sig that it's still a work in progress?

haha wow thats a long list of goodies. Your GT-R sounds bulletproof and a hell of ride. You should take some video footage of her

Mine is far from modded right now. It was only suppose to be a winter build of last year. But it looks like it will be round 2 this winter. I gonna take note on what you got. 450awhp is my power goal as well.

Thanks for the kind words guys It's KV2 Athlete Silver.
Yeah, if you're chasing a good, responsive track set up around 450awhp, I'd definitely recommend HKS2530 or Garrett -7's.

For turbo's I have a pair of N1's. Those are similar right? I should have thought of this earlier but its probably a good idea to get a metal head gasket instead of the OEM one I have. What do you think about that? Im concerned about setting boost to high and blowing out the head gasket. I also bought a brand new set of OEM head studs. I read many people have used OEM studs with high boost and have been fine. I was thinking about running 10psi low boost and 14.5 high. I have a fully rebuilt head with stock cams. Bottom end is stock.I would like to change out the oil pump for a Nismo or N1 unit same for the water pump. Do you think its safe to run that boost on a stock bottom end? The car will be mainly for track use.

What's your cooling setup? I had a big problem with over heating the first year I owned this car. So I want to make sure cooling is one of the primary things to take care of. I have a A/M 3" rad with two 12" e-fans. I want to get the Nismo air separator and a low temp thermostat. I think temps should keep in check with that. Again what do you think?

The main cause of stock turbo failure when running high boost are the ceramic fins. N1's are pretty much standard turbos with steel wheels instead of ceramic. The advantage is you can run a bit more boost. N1's are generally good for around 400AWHP. I've been running 19PSI and making 450+HP for years and haven't had any head gasket problems. The first RB26 that blew in my R32 was due to a spun big end bearing.

Oil issues are the RB26's Achilles heel. The problem isn't inadequate flow from sump to head, but rather the other way around! At high RPMs all the oil is pumped into the head and it doesn't return fast enough. I can't count on my hands how many RB26's I know have gone due to bearing problems.

At 14.5PSI, I don't think you'll see 450AWHP; even on a RB26/30. Pretty sure R34 GTR's run stock around 1 bar with the boost restirctor removed. With an unopened bottom end, most people run around 18-19PSI safely. I'd probably speak to your tuner to see what he's comfortable with tuning. Many tuners here outright refuse to tune a car to a state which they think is "knife's edge" or unsafe.

If you're planning to track your car, I'd definitely invest in an oil cooler and a quality oil temp gauge. If the oil overheats and gets thinner, it will only worsen the oil problems. I ran a stock radiator on my R32 without any dramas. The reason I had to take a break after about 5 laps was because of oil temperature, not water temp!

Cams/camgears also beef up the mid range quite a bit when you're making around those power figures. If you're on a budget, cam gears can be had for a few hundred $$ and make a substantial difference

Sorry I made a mistake on the turbo's I have. I thought N1 amd Nismo were the same lol.

I have "32Nismo (14411-06U00)" in this chart http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tbroom/Turbos.htm I have A/R.60 on the front and .64 on the exhaust housing.

They say there rated for 600ps. Im not sure if they can handle that now. I sure wouldn't want to try anyway lol. I forgot to mention I have a earls 10 row oil cooler. I remember being on the track last year, and oil temps were crazy high. I remember reading how bad the R32s heated up quick but I didnt think after 5 laps it would be so hot.

Not too sure about the RB25's as my R34 GTT was only stock with exaust/boost controller/piggy back etc pushing out around 250RWHP. I know a lot of the Silvia boys run Garrett GT2860RS on their SR20's, also known as the a "disco potato" They offer around 350HP with near stock-like response.

Ahhh. Those should be a little laggier than N1's but should be able to handle more power. Yeah that should be good enough to keep oil temps down. I set the warning light and sound for 110 deg Celsius in my car. Any more than that and it gets risky. To push those turbo's to their maximum potential, you'd still be looking at an upgraded fuel system which could cost $$$, depending on how much you DIY

That 5 laps was on a fairly long track (~3.00 min lap time) on a 40 degree Celsius day
