Haha, I only drove my vehicle 3 days before I had an appointment with a shop to do some engine work after buying her. When I went to fill her up wiht gasoline, 3 people came over and started talking to me about my vehicle wondering where I got it, if I need a liscence for RHD Etc..

I'm not a racer at all, if someone wants to race you just let them scurry off.
these vehicles are quick, after just a few seconds your already going over 100KMH and if you get a speeding ticket it will be very large and affect your insurance company big time, so take er easy!!.

Ive had quite a few good reactions, ALOT out of curiosity, and only one bad..


The Bad: My 240 was in my garage on jackstands ( my work vehicle), so i had to take my GTR to work.. and i work concrete so not the most appealing thing to do.... sooo after we were done a pour i stripped down to like myboxers and undershirt and layed a towel down and was driving home, and after about 5 mins of driving from the job site, a guy going the opposite way on the street leans out his window and yells at me, something along the lines that my car is a POS and i should drive a real mans car. I was a bit shocked but laughed it off.

Good and curiosity.
Alot of people will come up to me, in parking lots if im at work wheni get to my car and ask about it.. Apparently alot of people have seen the videos of the Z-tune on best motoring smoking all the exotic cars etc. Then we usually chat for about 30 mins about cars, and i try to fill them in as much as i can about the car.. so they learn.. and so far ive gotten nothing but respect.

The best has been the AMA guy who came to pic up my GTR when her clutch blew. He pulled up and looked at the car and called his other AMA friend and told him quote" Youll never guess what im towing" unquote. Aparently his friend is a huge Skyline fan, and this AMA guy didn't believe anything he was saying... So i started to inform him on the success of the guy, and their potential etc. In fact we talked for over an hour ( after waiting 5 hours ot get the tow truck lol ) about the car. He wants to look into buying one.. so in a couple weeks time. once i get my car back, i am taking him for a spin and a test drive..


But yeah... i don't like the attention. but ive come to expect it.. im driving a GTR.. im RHD.. of course people are gonna look or ask you about it... lol its a legacy.

I went to work today and this is the first time i was taking it there because my friend comes back tomorrow and I wanted to break it in so it runs flawlessly so the night before cleaned MAF and air filter, filled the tank back up with sunoco 94 and went to work. and on the way home there is always a police officer waiting for speeders and Im not an aggressive speeder so i just cruise by i think i was doing just under 60 55 most likely. So i look in my mirror and a black crown vic comes FLYING down the road after me signals blaring etc, so i stop roll down the windows and it was a girl. And she said wat are you doing with this car yadda yadda illegal, so i showed her all the papers he left me in the car, and explained to her that Im young and insurance is very expensive and I dont want to get it higher with a 5 second adreniline rush and she smiled and replied "oh" "cool car" and I said Thanks, she looked inside, and I got out and let her sit inside cause thats the 1st question people ask lol. and i let her sit inside and start it up showed her the engine and she was all giddy, and so I asked can...can i sit in your car and she said sure lol and she let me sit in the cop car I was like sweet. Now its a shame I got to give my friend his car back who thinks I should steal it lol jk I can wait for mine come on summer job big bucks lol

i had my skyline for a month now i have to say that the attention it gets on the road is most likely bad, i dont mind the thumbs up or the red light chit chat (is it wierd to drive on the other side .....) but everytime i go out theres always some retard that wanna race me, im a carefull driver in general but ive been even more carefull since i got the GTR, im the only one driving one in this area and since the car isnt all legal i dont wanna drag unnecessary attention to it.

But i have to say that when the car is parked i dont really mind the attention, i havent got anything bad said to me about the car mostly curious ppl that wanna talk about car so its ok. Even got an hour chat with a muscle car enthousiast that almost knew more about my car then i did, so its all good for now but like i said i only have the car for a months maybe in 2 year ill b tired of saying , its ok u get used to drive on the other side , yes its legal.......

I am impress that all of us got interesting stories to share about ppl's reactions when they see our rides. No matter how many times we take our cars out on the road, there will always be a on lookers. My experience so far have been quite positive. Just keep it coming with more stories, good or bad.

my recent incounter with onlookers was yesterday. I was at a red light when a group of 7 scooter riders came up beside me and started drooling, I couldnt help but laugh, then the light turns green and all of a sudden they all fly as if i was going to race them, it was funny. Altough the red light was to go onto the highway so i passed them in second gear going about 80km. good times

im always geting the rednecks. (not to stereo type anyone at all) but yeah. hill billy's just love the thing, ill be sitting at a light, and they'll look over and say somthing like "Hey your steering wheels on the wrong side!" so i just look around for a sec and respond with a "yeah, its a pesky problem , but ive got a mechanic taking a look at it, so we'll see what happens" and then they laugh, give me the "nice car man" and then drive away. its always good for a luagh. i dont like the race attention tho, when i was in calgary last weekend for DTP i counted about 7 cars in a matter of like 6 blocks that were trying to pick a race with me.... grrrrr!

Oh, good cop story: My cousin is an RCMP (won't say who or where)
but I took him for a ride in it when I bought it and he gave me a bad time racking up all of the infractions. He said that when I get it built we may be able to find a section of road where HE can see how fast it goes. With the help of his detatchment(ie close the road for 5-10 mins). Needless to say, if it actually happens(no time soon), we might have a location with a friendly RCMP detatchment to organize a race like the silver state classic here in AB.

Before you get too excited, a few weeks ago I was in Whitecourt and just about got run off the road by a van full of dirty tree planters. Face it , if you were ever a tree planter you know you were dirty too. Maybe you still are. I'm just sayin'. I'll stop now.

I just found out today that my sisters foster children's Freinds think I am a "loser". Because I "must have paid a fortune to have the steering wheel on my car moved to the other side like that."

She sat and let them finish their rant. Then told them she knew me and that I bought the car like that from japan.
