    ( sorry for lengthy reading, more info you have, more chance of helping me maybe )

    some of you already heard, but none the less, since i got another rb20 swap into my gtst its been running like crap, still trying to fix the fuel "leak" ( or something ) and just been kind of a pain.

    now tonight, on my way home, the car had a HUGE power cut out, like nothing was happening, i was just driving and it like it died but doesnt turn off, and usually when i tap tap on the gas pedal it comes back, but it was soooo bad tonight i was going 80, and i had to pull over because it wasnt coming back, then it turned off, i turn it on, and it turned off again. i was like WTF!!!!

    then i turn it on again, rev it up, then get back on my way, rip through all the gears, and everything was fine.

    but its been doing this since the swap, just randomly stops. i always explain to people its like my fuel cuts out, but its not that, its like electronic or something.

    my winter car had same issue, got worse and worse, ( 1992 subaru legacy ) and i change the coolant temp sensor and was perfect, for a few days, but it ran much better for the next few months then started getting worse as it was before.

    so ive been on the hunt for a coolant temp sensor for the 20, finaly found the right one from nissan, just broke and will get paid end of week, but till then i put the one that was in my old motor in this one, (old motor ran flawless till blew up) and its still crap.

    anything else i should look for?

    sometimes theirs these super super quick stutters, and the rpm needle jumps ex. 2-3 back n forth, like 3 times per second.

    anyways please help, i need it running smoothly for drift school lol.

    and if this helps, it likes to cut out right when the turbo is getting full boost, so im waiting for the kick, and then just blank for a second and ruins the whole moment, happens fairly often.

    Did you check your grounds? Like you said, it sounds electrical. By "power cut out" do you mean there's no electrical power (Lights go off) or no engine power, ei bogs down?

      no lights are still on, because my stereo still works, and headlights and dashlights. all thats good.

      just picture yourself relaxing driving down a long straight road on cruise control, then it just turns off cruise control and it slows down... very similar feeling of how it goes, but when it cuts out, it doesnt feel like it coasts very well ( as i have experienced in cars when i disengage the cruise ), it slows down pretty quickly.

      but it happens in every gear, and my battery grounds? or like my coil grounds and injectors grounds or whatever you would type it out to be...

        Sounds like the Maf problem I had last summer. See if it is heat related. When you start the car it shouldn't do it and after driving it for a while it should get worse? This was my experience and it did the exact same thing all I had to do was let it cool down and try again and I got it home no problem and it was very intermittent. I resoldered my Maf internals and haven't had an issue since. Not sure if this is your problem but hope this helps.

            Like ground for cas ground for basic electro parts. Try mafs like he said. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? might be something cloaged up. Could be bad FPR but it should'nt act up on cruise.

              well i dont actually have cruise, just pretending i did for the story haha. but i dont think anything is clogged because my car is burning fuel quicker then pretty much any other rb20, so maybe a leak or burning stupid right, i doubt the fuel isnt getting in. but the ground.... ill have to investigate lol.

                a better way to explain how it feels, its like the intercooler piping popped off... some of must know how that feels lol.

                i sure do, didnt know what it was at first, happened twice in 3 months, not the most fun trying to get to work.

                  Sounds like what happen to me before check your piping and make sure none if your piping came off

                    lol it came apart before but the car wont drive with it off, and these "cut outs" are just temporary so i know their fine, but i look under the hood few times a week...

                        well its really like just at peak boost, just in 1st or 2nd driving away from the light going 30 km at low rpm it cuts. and i step on the peddle a couple times to get it out of "limp" mode... kuz the cars behind me r on my ass kuz i cant accelerate.

                        so maybe it is similar, but im only running 12 psi and it doesnt seem like the ecu is telling the motor to stop because it will get hurt..

                          My first question is why are you burning so much fuel? I have a feeling maybe one of your o2 sensors is not functioning properly and your running pig rich. Is your cam sensor properly adjusted? Maybe your running too rich and the ecu is pulling timing?

                            i wonder, and i have a new o2 sensor, and i couldnt get my old one out... so yeah. lol. ill have to pay someone to friken do it. sucks.

                            and i dont know why its running so rich, its bull crap lol

                            and for the cam sensor ill ask my buddy who was the previous owner who did the swap for me.

                              My ride was cutting out like that last year, I resoldered the MAF pins and now its fine. My car was also going through a tank quite quick, O2 sensor helped that. Try the easy stuff first.
