How long do you wait until you take action from bad forum purchases?

Any luck mvs2 as what is a good way to go about this if I never get the reg?

At our office we have a brochure with the process in detail. I'm just taking a glance at it now and to sum it up --

1) Locate any documents / emails that prove you are the owner, write down the VIN #, make / model.
- Include all this information in a letter to ICBC asking for a Vehicle Record Search. Attach photocopies of any documents you have ( keep all your originals for yourself )

- Attach a cheque for $7 payable to ICBC and mail the package to :

ICBC Driver Testing and Vehicle Information
154-151 West Esplanade
North Vancouver BC V7M 3H9

Step 2 :

ICBC will send you a letter letting you know what they found and the information of the previous owner.


Step 3 :

You'll need to fill out a ' Unregistered Vehicles and Missing Signatures Declaration ' (MV1484) we have this at the brokerages.


***MAKE SURE TO FILL THIS OUT INFRONT OF A NOTARY PUBLIC OR A COMMISSIONER FOR TAKING AFFIDAVITS IN BC***

Basically it asks for the information of the vehicle,

-year , make model, VIN , body style.
-Where and when you purchased the vehicle and how much you paid
-Selers name and details of your attemts to obtain his or her signature ( e-mails , private messages etc ) times / dates of attemts
-Documents to show how you came to own the vehicle ( shipping receipt, bank withdrawals )
-Condition of the vehicle now and when you purchased it. Also indicate whether the vehicle conforms to original manufacturers specs or if its been modiefied in any way.


Once this is complete take it to driver services. ( where you renew your license etc )

Its a fair bit of a process but your not completely out of luck. The brokerage will probably be clueless about what your asking and will try their best to convince you there is nothing you can do -- out of sheer lack of knowledge. If this happens tell them to do their ******* job and give you the brochure for " VEHICLES WITH NO RECORD OF REGISTRATION "

Huge thanks buddy! I have PM'd the guy again and I will have at bare minimum a bill of sale from him by wednesday. He is going to go down to see the person instead of just asking the other guy to do it. So with a transfer form signed I will be one step closer to this.

Okay well I started this thread in APRIL, it is now AUGUST and I'm in the same position... I've been emailing back and forth to gtrc member with no success. He keeps saying he is waiting for ICBC. Well this can't take that long.

I was getting him to go ahead and try to get a copy of the Registration through the above process. Now I guess I shall try myself ?

CHARLES here off of GTRC is who I've been having the troubles, I gave him lots of time before telling people to not do business with him however now he won't even return my emails or PM's.

I've been waiting for this registration since JANUARY, that's 8 months!!!

Also his forum name is C-UNIT... And I'm kinda pissed because I purchase things off this forum because it is coming from people I trust, I've had nothing but good things will all the members I've sold to or bought from until now.

Ya well i purchased a supposedly good motor off him a while ago. I started it up with a HEAVY tick, after a hour of looking around, turns out one of the valves is missing the shim completely! So I ordered a shim and installed it no worries. It must have been just slapped together, not pulled from a running car like was described. I however didn't say anything about it cause it didn't cost me anything. Oh come to think of it the rod clearance was out to lunch as well, again I chocked it up to internet purchase what can you do.

However after this latest transaction I'm kinda pissed cause I have a useless car without a registration...

Sorry to hear about this.
I have dealt with Charles (C-Unit) a couple times in the past, both buying and selling.
Never had any problems.
He lives or lived (haven't been past in a while) right around the corner.
I believe that I even went to go look at this shell when he was selling it.
Is this the flat black one?

He may be in Hong Kong, but still this is getting excessive. I guess in a few weeks im going to try to explain my case to ICBC and see if i can start the process of getting a registration my self...

Hopefully this gets sorted out and both parties are happy , not nice to see people dissapointed with their purchases on the forums - this undermines the trust and integrity between members .

This forum has a good track record ( excuse the pun) - lets all work to make it stay that way ! Quick and "clear" communication goes along way.
