Hcr32 wheel fitment help!!

Hey guys,
So I ordered a set wheels with specs suggested to me from a reputable parts dealer who I don't feel needs to take all the blame. Rims are TE37SL's (17x9+22) all around and the rubber was 215 40r17 for the front and 235 40r17 for the rear. Well needless to say the 215s don't fit on 9" wide rims which I should have caught when I was ordering tires in the first place.... I feel if I get 17x8's it fill allow the rims to fit more flush as the 9" wide rims stick out about an inch off the wheel wells. This will also allow my 215 front tires to fit.i realize I'll then have to get rid of my 235's.. Anyways can you guys help me sort out this mess. Anyone with a gts-t or good fitment knowledge can give me suggestions on a wheel tire size that would get me flush I'd me most appreciative!

i am running a 9s with 215s. front and back. do you have the tires mounted on the rims yet? have you tried to mount the rims up with tires? are you rubbing?

I run a 235 on my 10.5 and the stretch prevents rubbing :P

I had Fountain Tire mount the 215's to the 17x9 and they were concerned with the amount of rim lip exposed...are yours stretched? I also found the wheels stick out an inch out of the wheel wells..which I could work with. I wanted flush wheels so I have a hard time liking the look.

is the car stock height or lowered abit? are you going really low? i have mine pretty low and with my fenders rolled and slightly pulled there isnt any issue.

To note I have currently 235's mounted on 9's as Fountain Tire removed the 215's off my other two 9's.

Car is stock height and to be honest I find my GTR replica bumper scraps enough at the best of time on stock springs so I've been hesitant when it comes to lowering..

does it look like the 235 will rub? you can always just roll the fenders. personally i would stick with the 9s

I'm gonna post pics. Basically I have a lot of room in my wheel wells on stock springs so as of right now rubbing isn't an issue.

i got 225/45 and 235/45 on my 17x9 +25's on my gts. fit excellent. dont know what the problem is with yours.

if you dont wanna roll fenders then its a completely different story.

ive got a buddy in edmonton with a roller you can rent.

hey man i got a gtst sedan, and the rear im pretty sure has less room and i run 17x9 +17 as it is. super clean, im pretty low, i run 205 on 9"s and no problem, 215 40 is fine, my buddy has 215/35 on his 9"s and thats stretch, and fountain tire are the ones that did it. and do fold the lip of your fender, dont need to roll or pull, but fold the lip in. and here are some pics, and im low with more offset and small tire, so whatever you have your fine, but 235 is a little big for 9. if u had 9.5 or 10 the tire would stretch a bit and it would have less chance of rubbing. btw im addicted to fitment lol.

and yeah and i am going lower then the pics i am posting.



this last pic, front wheels are smaller, but as you can see the rear is minty. plus your stock height so you shouldnt have any problems. but go 9"s because in a year youll learn lots more about fitment and youll hate yourelf if u get 8. you have a nice fresh wheel and size for getting into fitment.

Thanks again for the feedback! I think what Fountain did was put the 215 on the 9 without stretching which would explain the techs concern over the phone. I'll make sure to specify I want them put on understanding stretch will be necessary. I was also expecting to get my fenders rolled as shown in the pics if I slam the height, would a roll cover those 235's in the rear? It's around an inch...

I run a 235/40/18 on my 18x10+15 in the rear and 18x9+15 up front with a 215/40/18

when you fold the lip in that is what rolling is. when you use a fender roller to fold the lip in.

if they put a 215 on a 9 inch rim, they cant put it on and not be stretched. it either is or isnt. also if you lower the back you would need to roll and pull the back to cover the tire.
