What kind of suspension is your car on, Rick?

And +1 for bbs lm on r32. Look so nice- expensive though.

Car is on bilstein dampers with eibach springs. No adjustability but they ride really well and handle decent. Wouldnt mind some damping adjustability but height is ok.
Made up my mind to get new wheels also. They are offered in:
      17x9 +22 (same as current)
      17x9 +12
      17X9.5 +12
      17x10 +20

With 255/40 rubber, the 10" be good with no work? Thinking more about the fronts and turning clearance....

IMO, id go 18x10 if can with et+20! (thats whats i went with and im lowered, no work needed) I also went with 265 tires. (wish i went with a 275 though) which again shouldnt need to do any work.

reason id go 18's is with the LM's lip it makes the wheel look smaller then it actually is. this is my opinion, so all your call. but my 18x10 et+20 fit perfect, very flush. if you look in some of my posts i have pics i forget where. or send me a pm and ill send you some of mine. (not lms but i have rpf1s) good luck!

Thanks for the tip^^. I thought about that also, but the wheels I ended up finding are more of a cross between lms, and one of ccw 's wheels so the lips are a bit different. I think the 17x10's will work out good and i can still use my new 17" rubber. Plus with the cost savings over lms in good sizing I can put track rubber on the advans (and keep my house, wife, etc.).

            True,

Id go 17x10, and +20. (if theres a lower offset then might be worth looking into) either way for just street wheels the 9.5 w/+12 would look simlar)

I had 17x9 w/+15 and my 18x10 +12 fit perfect! Im lowered and didn't need to roll the fenders either!

The varrstoens are an exact copy, but are cast and weigh a LOT. 29lbs per wheel for the 18s. But for 250$ each for 18x10.5 you can't go wrong as a street wheel.
              Victory is on the horizon..

255 seems pretty skinny for a 10" wide wheel.. That's what I'm running on 9" wide atm, planning on going with 265's. Although I do like the beefy tire look.

255 is way small imo, i have a 9" wide rim and run a 275 on it and it deff gives it that beefy look if you go with a nice extreme summer tire.

Imo the 3 spoke doesn't suit your gtr m8, sell em!

                          WTF.....LOL

I hear ya all. So YEAH, I'm gettin new ones.
Keepin the "3's" for track/spare wheels seeing as everyone hates 'em, meaning no buyers.....

So this is the final decision.

                          17x10 +20. with my 255/40 Yoko S-Drives.
I can always add the 5mm spacers I've had for years to get a bit more offset if needed.
Going to keep my 255 rubber for now and see how it looks. Most recommendations say 8.5-10" for a 255 so I'll be on the outer limit.
I don't like the stretch/poke look all that much so if it looks goofy I'll get some 265's next season.
If I go to 275/40, wouldn't they be too tall without dropping to a 35 series following this ++ pattern for similar outer diameter:

                          225/50/16
                          + 235/45/17
                          + 255/40/17
                          + 275/35/17 -- ??

                          Anyone running 275/40/17 rubber confirm?
I assume at least the front fender liners would be coming out in this case....

with 10" id go 275. I have 265, and still have room! depends how low you go but id say you would be perfect with 275 on 10s!

255's look lame on my 9" wide, they will look even more lame on 10" wide go 275's at least.

I have 275/40r17s on 10" wheels in the rear and there is a very slight stretch....almost what a factory tire would be like.....smaller would look dumb.

If you go with a cheaper cast wheel stay away from an 18" and wide wheel. You can save about 50lbs off your total wheel and tire combo if you go 17x9 and a 255 tire vs an 18x10 and a 265-285 combo. When you start looking at weight differences in tire sizes and wheels it goes up in a real hurry jumping from 17" to 18" in cast.

                                Jon.
