I would assume because its coming from canada it will only be required to have canadian registration. Canadian registration has only the year where as japanese will have month/year. If its coming from canada they won't know is what he's saying but if they cared alot it could matter

Has anyone filled out the hs-7 form? Will they be picky on the date of manufacture box and want month too or just accept year?

Have you spoken to customs? I'm sure you would be able to get some excellent info from them. It's in their best interest to help you so you can be prepared as possible making their jobs easier.
