exact same **** except
gtst - single turbo, rear wheel drive
gtr - twin turbo, all wheel drive
both capable and work well with bolt ons. just depends what you want
gtr has a better body while the gtst is like her anorexic sister
awd is good for track, circuit
rwd - driftR33 GTST RB25DET series 1
Stock motor, holset HX40, power fc d-jetro, bolt ons, 20psi = 492rwhp 364 lbft

Its the same dilemma as the R32's. I owned both r32 GTST, and GTR.
The above is correct. GTST is simpler, MUCH easier to work on, and cheaper to maintain.
But the power/handling potential goes up drastically with the GTR IMHO, so unless your looking for a drift machine or can't/don't do your own mechanical work I'd go GTR.
The one thing that makes the R33 comparison a bit more difficult is the RB25. It's better than the RB20 by far, hence all the RB25 into R32 swaps.

i have bolt ons, tuning, stock long block and gaskets and make 492 rwhp
Compression is still 165-170 across the board
car hauls ass and i havent met my match on the road. pulled away from many cars.
the rb25 is an awesome motor, much more superior than the rb20
if you want fun get the gtst. if you want to consume your life and wallet with aspirations of being a track star.... go GTRR33 GTST RB25DET series 1

It doesnt matter what you choose....if it is a good one you will get many years of faithfull service, if its a lemon it will be headache after headache. GTRing it for 4 years now and never had an issue....some have gone broke.

Personally I would find a good, clean, unmolested GTR. You may want to consider importing one. DO NOT be afraid to spend a bit extra as you'll be saving money in the long run.
If you do basic up keep and don't bash it off the rev limiter I think you'll have a happy life together. GTRs have been proven to be a very reliable car if taken care of. Same as any other car.

ive got 210,000km on my car, stock motor, makin good power
I am yet to see an rb25 making the same power as me
i owe it all to tuning and the knowledge of the tuner.
a good tune equals a good life
money should not be a concern with these cars. do it right the first timeR33 GTST RB25DET series 1

RB25DET is more inbetween RB26, RB20, looks of RB20DET (intake plenum, etc), but similar capacity, hp of a RB26 with similar type of pistons (diameter, etc).
SR20DET, RB20DET are a better comparison (same capacity).
A GTR is like a GTS-T with more hp, torque, more grip. A modified RB26 feels similar to a big block at higher rpm, but mid, lower rpm are less than a big block. It feels no different characteristic wise to a RB20 in my opinion (more hp, torque with RB26).Last edited by Skym; 03-13-2014, 09:34 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER
