I've spoken with the guy over the phone but to be honest something in my gut tells me something doesn't add up. Maybe I'm wrong but I could use a guy who knows there GTTs to tell
    Me what they think..

    Cheers

      This is the vehicle http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/4781813698.html

The engine bay looks like its missing or has really bad paint fade.. The guy also doesn't seem like he's giving me the exact story. What should I be looking for guys?

Ya I spoke with the seller today and nothing was adding up. Going with my intuition on this one and I'm steering clear.

The R32 is a very sleek dangerous sleeper. I saw 2 of them the other day when I was up in Edmonton and they're even nicer when you see them in person. Pics of R32s don't really do justice. There's something different about seeing one up close and personal.

The R33, dam I can't put my finger on it but this car has some serious longevity. It looks kinda like it doesn't quite fit but then you see it from a certain angle and you realize that this car is playing tricks on you. It's big and downright beautiful. It's the sorta car I wanna get in wearing a Nike Hoddie and tilt my hat. Ya.. it plays with your emotions but cause it's almost like dispute your efforts you'll never understand it fully.

The R34 looks like the kinda girl you would be banging if you were filthy rich. It's caviar and it's also a bat out of hell. It almost looks to good to be true. The two tone interior looks just perfect and the way the back fenders stick out is so fresh, just looking at it makes you dizzy.

          They're all really beautiful!
I choose option C because of the word " Bang and Girl " but seriously you can not go wrong with all 3, but I put my money on a 34

Just bring a mechanic friend with you, test out of everything like you would with any other used car you buying. Ask the guy if the car was manual converted from auto for my advise

Yeah I have taken some time and I've come to the decision and I'm going with an R34 GTT. How much do you guys think a clean one would cost landed. I'm going to say 10/11k.. But I'm not entirely sure.

at the current Exchange rates you can get one for 10 - 12 landed for sure..

Just get ahold of your preferred Exporter and start bidding at auction.

or take a risk and pick something off tradecarview.

                    Thanks dah,

Ya I think I'm going to bite the bullet and go the import rout. I've been talking with Steve down at SASTRAD who seems to be a really nice guy. I guess Ive been waiting to see if anything would come up locally but it seems as though I'm seeing less and less of anything good coming up on CL. I don't know seems like especially over the last year most import sports cars have become quite popular. CL seems to be chalk full of NA supras, S15s and auto skylines.

I still feel a little bit apprehensive as its my first time and I don't still don't completely understand the auction sheet AKA.. Deciphering All the Japanese notes and some of the pictures are really ambiguous to say the least but this seems to be the only way you don't end up over paying. Some of the private dealers seem like a good alternative but again they seem a bit overpriced.

Also can you suggest what you would consider reasonable KM? Also how can you tell by the auction sheet if the vehicle has an odometer cert?

                    Cheers

                      Hey guys,

So I know that I've been posting on here quite a bit in attempsts to try and figure out which model skyline I want etc.. I thought that going with an r34 GTT was the way to go but the more I read about these cars the more I realize there's just so much to consider. Like for instance.. I think that the r34 GTT is a bit pricey right now especially if you want something other than white.. I am also seeing r32 GTRs come up for the same price or what seems to be even cheaper. I'm also starting to consider that R33 GTR. My biggest problem right now is that I'm not sure I want to fork out high dollars for an r34 GTT when I might be able to get something bigger and badder for less even. This is strictly based on speculation but it seems like the GTR would maybe be a little better a ride just because of the AWD.. Saying that it makes me wonder if the GTRs are a lot more to maintain and more problematic.

See guys the fact is I came on here knowing nothing and I assumed that there were a couple differnt models in which one would be the clear descision. However the more Im reading up about these cars the more I'm going whaa.. Couple this with the fact that I have a very shakey sense of how much these differnt models go for at auction. This is why I haven't pulled the trigger yet. If this was a MKIV supra or something along those lines where you only have a few different models to choose from it wouldn't be so hard.

Anyways, I'm going on quite the ramble but damn there's so much to learn and choose from when it comes to the skyline. I guess I'll start by going back to the drawing board and asking some questions. I think it would also be really helpful if I came to a meet sometime but I'm getting the sense there's probably not a heck of a lot going on with this weather we've been having. Anyways if you guys have any thoughts please feel free to share. I'm going to right a list of questions point form and post them tomorrow.

                      Cheers

Which skyline do you guys think would be least problematic out of these 4.. R32 GTR, R33 GTST, R33 GTR, or the R34 GTT? I'm just talking about in a general sense. Is there any particular model out of these that you would avoid for any particular reason?

I hear that the AWD on the R32 splits the torque in a different way than the other skylines. Is this a good or bad thing? I'm talking in terms of performance. How exactly does it differ?

Is the hicass 'apologize if I'm speeling wrong'.. Just a pain in the ass or it something that's just a personal preference thing? I think it sounds prety dam cool since I personally owned a prelude years back that was AWS.

Is the RB20 considered a joke? If not is it hard to tune to get any real power?

Which model of the 4 do you think Is the easiest to get parts for?

What would I expect to pay for each of these models at auction. Hypothetically, if they were all at auction grade 4s/b, MT, around 100,000km and BLK in Colour?

What are the most expensive colours for these cars at auction?

Finally, I hear a lot of stories about the oil pumps kicking the bucket. Is this just because of people running to much boost or is something I will inevitably face after the car lands?

I just want to be thorough. The last thing I want to do Is buy a certain model and a few months down the road take a rip in a differnt model and be like **** I really wish I wouldve spent/saved a few grand more.
