this is why even a 2 program ecu should be done up. Its not much to do it and you can have the second program set the RPM to anything you want. Hide the switch somewhere and every time you drop it off ANYWHERE you flip the switch first. Then you will have a factory tune and 1500RPM rev limit and you can even set the speed limiter to 20 km/h if you wish!! then you KNOW they are not peeling out or cruising.

If anyone wants to know I do know EXACTLY how to make such an item right now and am able to do it to ANYONES ecu that already has an eprom in it with a socket for easy removal. Your looking at only $15 worth of parts, 15 minutes worth of programming and maybe 30 - 60 minutes of wire install for the switch.

I did a breif writeup about this on a different post on this forum, but forget where it was. It detailed the whole process. But if some of you dont have the tools or the confidence then let me know.

They "offered" me $2,500 bucks to fix the car as they "couldnt see how" he could cause that much damage in "only" 600kms...

i could do 11k in damage to GTR in a very short 600km. A 2000 toyota camry, thats diferent. these people never understood your situation from the begining. this isnt some daily driver here. It costs money to fix damage that severe. I know that you maintained your car man, we can all see that if we read your old posts etc. thats crap and i hope you get more then 11g out of them. after all your bills you will barely be able to fix your car on that budget. they should pay all of your legal bills too. it costs a lot to fight, the "man".

The damage has been assessed to include the engine, clutch and both turbos... Subracing is just waiting for pricing before they go ahead with whatever they have planned. Im not even in Canada yet and havent been for the last 30 days. When I know something I will post.

it should go really quickly especially since they signed a piece of paper saying they would fix any incured damages.

as long as he can show the inspection report he had done JUST BEFORE he dropped the car off, and then the report AFTER it was stolen it will be there in black and white. There will be no denying it. But I would consider inflating the costs of repairs or find a REALLY high priced estimate. That way if the judge decides they should pay more, but not as much as you are asking for you will still get everything you need to fix it right.

Someone could always argue that it was going to break anyway, it just happened to be when someone else was driving it. So to restore it to "like new" may be a stretch even for a judge to see.

Be sure to let us know when we should watch Judge Judy. I dont want to miss this episode!

I thought Judge Judy had people on there looking for $10,000 or more?

Oh well, I doubt we will see it on TV.

And in the end, Only the lawyers win.

if he does have a lawyer and wins the court case the shop would have to not only pay for the repairs but would also have to pay for the lawyers fees since none of this would have happend had the shop not allowed a customers car to be taken for a joy ride. and the shop would also have to pay for there own lawyer too.....

So does this business have an email we can put on every nasty spam list we can find? Any local people should call them up all day and let them know how their shop sucks.
