For the best price on metric stri gauges, go on ebay or skylinesaustralia. You have no other choice! Trust me, I did my homework.

By the way, Is water and oil temp really important ? Or you can deal with only one? I was planning on buying water/oil temp, boost and fuel pressure. I would use the triple din gauge and put one in my driver vent, but If I don't order water temp. I will save money and save my vent.

      Cool I'll check that out.

To be honest I hadn't really given the water temp or feul pressure much thought. Perhaps I should but I felt that monitoring the oil and turbo system was more important. I'm buildig my car for tarmac rally so I'll be having a co-driver help me will watch the gauges, but even still at some point I'd just be overwelmed with information rather than the road. Figure I'll just have to build a solid cooling system and rely on the stock water temp gauge. If this sounds stupid to someone please let me know.

Like previsouly discussed in multiple threads, the stock water temp gauge has 3 positions:

Cold, Operating Temp, and Blown engine.

It's up to you if you want to rely on it or not. Personally, I wouldn't.

Good point. I'm gonna think about this some more. I did find thru searching that STRi is just slightly more expensive than Speedhut depending on where you look. I have to do a little more research.

I might try some thing else then.
May be I could go with 52mm EGT, Oil Press, Oil Temp, Water Temp, Volt. Then a 60mm Boost. Or just get 52mm for all just to save some cash.

if you are building your car to race, I would suggest strongly to get some proven gauges. all these brands people are throwing around are not ones I would consider high quality. don't cheap out when it comes to monitoring your engine.

if you have or are getting a PowerFC, don't worry about water temp gauge as there is a water temp reading on the PFC.

Gauges you should have FOR SURE are... boost, oil pressure and a wideband O2. Those are the bare minimum.

I don't plan on running the PowerFC. I'll be competing in a standard class which limits performance modifications. I understand what you mean with all these brands. I'm having trouble finding enough info to really commit to buying. I'm still wondering if I should just get the HKS package (see first post) and add a water temp gauge.

I just recently purchased my GTR and it has only the stock gauges. My question is whether or not it is neccesary to run a second boost gauge. Im not planning on increasing boost above factory. Is the stock boost gauge not enough. I dont track at all, and want to keep my interior as stock looking as possible. What sort of options do I have, can some people post pictures of where and how you have mounted your gauges.
I really like the vent Idea for vital info. Any help would be great!!

i wouldnt worry about the boost gauge but i think oil pressure and water temp and maybe oil temp gauges would be fine, just so your monitoring the vitals. you could even put them in the # gauge pod to retain the stock look

What Love Boost said + if you know the gauge isn't reading properly then just get a new boost sensor from nissan.

My Oil pressure is the only gauge that seems to act up. Is it as simple to change a sensor to help with that, or should I just bite the bullet and set up a triple pod?

                          bite the bullet.

I never trust the stock oil pressure gauge.

I looked on ebay for the Defi racer gauges. Do you mean it was going to cost you 450 USD for those three gauges? Because the best I could do was $190 * 2 for the two temp gauges + 245 for the boost + 30 for shipping = $655CAD or $540USD.

anyone have any expeirences with glow shift gauges? they loook really good and are pretty cheap, i know a few people running them and they are really accurate so far, just wondering if anyone else tried them.

you can get a pillar pod with 3 gauges for 180 bucks plus shipping lol, and they seem to work good.

I have read dozens of reviews on cheaper gauges, including glow shift, and they are too scattered for me. One forum says they work great, others say they are out a fair bit. In the end, I bought Stri gauges because I know they work, and they aren't ridiculously priced. When it comes down to it, the more you spend on gauges (to an extent) the more accurate the gauges are guaranteed to be. I learned the hard way cheaping out on a few parts for my car. Save for another couple weeks and buy some gauges that are known to do a good job, rather than scattered here say reviews
