0piston, bought it from Repco -

When pulled apart they are said to have a big filter element. I presume it flows better, due to more oil moving through that bigger filter element.

Fram has poor quality control. Sometimes there cheap gaskets will melt onto the block or start to leak... trust me! I have done a LOOOOT of oil changes. Oem are by far the best, gaskets never come off and always top quality.

Its not rocket science... its an oil filter.

Blue, but I've had this filter since this time last year, I just havent installed the oil cooler/relocation kit yet. I've been using the Quaker State filters because of availability and they have been good, but I'd like to cut one in half and see how good they are.

once i read that article comparing oil filters, i'm never buying a fram again!

oil was constantly dark too regardless what the car was.

I use oem, changing it every 3000kms. Always golden!

Every 4th oil change I use a Nismo or Sard magnetic filter to get any stuff out of there.

                      Wix here.

If you have ever seen the inside of a Fram filter you will never use one again (not even for a lawn mower). They have the least amount of filter media and the antidrainback valve is a joke. The gaskets are marginal and the canisters are known to pop prematurely.

Cudos to Crappy tire for switching to Wix. I still can't believe that post about that, I'll have to keep tabs on the filter #'s to see when the Wix #'s start to replace the Fram #'s.

I'm going to cut open the Greedy filter on my car now to see if they are any good and let you guys know.

Bengbu Jinwei filters co LTD. I guess I'll have to check a little more on that.

But I can garanty you they look a hell of a lot better than the fram one.
Has soon as they get more stock replace, I'll be cutting one open to check.

any word on the K&N filters...there the only ones i put on my car...seems to be built well...never had any complaints...

im doing an oil change after the golden gardens cruise ill cut it apart and take some pictures...

only time i ever use a fram filter is for saving money before i park the car and i also use a synthetic blend oil....run the car once till warm and then dont start it for 3 months...

only time i suggest using a cheap cheap cheap filter...

BTW K&N filters can be bought at lordco in BC nappa everywhere else...part number is the same as the 300ZX TT

The thing about OEM is, who makes it? Nissan doesn't make their own filters, so who does? I'd like to see one cut open.

PS: haven't cut open the Greddy yet.
