ok so i was having a problem before where when i would go on the highway and as soon as i gave full throttle my r32 gts would go to boost up and when hit full boost the turbo would make a popping sound so i guess the car was going into safe mode. i had to swap out my gauge cluster for a new one and this new one doesnt have the stock boost gauge it has a voltage meter instead but i have hks boost gauge and to hook it up i just unhooked the vacuum from the box on the firewall for the stock boost gauge. so i found out that unhooking that it made my turbo pop so i plugged the line back into the box but i t'd into it for my hks gauge. my car is still doing it alittle at full throttle so my question is could it be because my new cluster doesnt have the stock boost gauge or could it be because i t'd into? where do you guys run you vacuum line for a boost gauge?

I have mine hooked up (map sensor > vaccum hose > T fitting) to 6mm ID vacuum hose that goes from intake manifold to top of BOV (intake manifold side of 6mm ID hose).
Missing at high rpm can be due to not gapping sparkplugs down to 0.8mm from stock 1.1mm or have wrong heatrange.Last edited by Skym; 10-23-2010, 02:45 AM.RESPONSE MONSTER

You can't custom gap E3s so they are only a good choice for N/A engines.
I like the Autolite AR3923 race plugs, they are a plain copper plug with a fat ground strap that is slightly cut back for good spark exposure and detination resistance. I have been forced to run the gap to .7mm to combat flameout (stuttering) at 1.5bar (23ish psi).
I personally have had issues with Platinum tips comming off of the center electrode in turbo cars (both the GTR and others) and causing massive misefire issues once that happens.
That and I feel that they cost WAY more than they should. I only use them in N/A engines that you don't wany to service for about 100,000 kms.

1990 GTR Drag Special T88H34D 11.24 @ 127.55mph at only 1.2bar...... officially. SOLD
