  • GTR Key blank code

I went to a local and near by nissan dealership in hopes to get my gtr blank cut so i could stop using the hideous key that came with the 32. The problem is, they asked for a certain code which i didnt know i needed in order for them to cut it. Does anyone know of this code and what am i to say to the guys over at nissan to cut it for me? thanks!

Uhh take it to a Normal key cutter they should be able to cut it from your current key with a laser cutter thing, as long as your key isn't insanely worn out. better yet order this r33 blank Gtr key part no. KEY00-00185 can be found at any Nissan for $40 shipped to the dealership for free

The number is supposed to be on the driver's side lock barrel. Should be a 4 digit number.

maybe it depends on which cantire you go to? if you don't mind me asking which one did you go to markc32? yeah and to avoid a f*ck up, i'll start with getting them to cut a spare for me before they touch the gtr blank.

The key is made of hardened steel, it is stronger than a regular key, and harder on the wheel of the cutting machine.

And I usually cut my keys at Canadian Tire too, but I'm the one cutting the key. lol
The little perk of having worked there.

Sometime it helps to pass the key twice even 3 time, if they put the machine on automatic (meaning the machine makes the movement from right to left). It also help if the machine has recently been calibrated, if done properly. lol And if you do get someone who knows how to work and adjust the machine it's always a plus. I already copied a key that was so worn that it had split in 4 pieces, and my copy worked on the first try. And then you have people that can't even copy a house key for sh*t, I know I have worked with a few. lol

Most Canadian Tire don't usually guaranty keys that weren't bought there, but on the other hand some of them won't charge you a dime for this reason.

One way to do it if don't mind paying for a spare, and since they usually don't move the key being copied while copying it, is to cut just a regular blank nissan key, go try it on your car (obviously you have to go there with your skyline or car you want to make the key for), and if it works perfectly THEN you try the GTR hardened key, and pass it like I said 2, 3 times.

                          Good Luck

the last time I had a gtr key cut, the locksmith was doing a lot of mumbling under his breath complaining about they key being very hard...

..I thought Nissan had some sort of key cutting machine that stamped the key out,, or something ???

You want to get a GTR key because you don't like the way your GTS key looks?
