Cleaning injectors can actually find fault's with them (they can start leaking after they are installed on car). Then combine the leaking injectors with a bigger lph fuelpump that can make engine run richer at mid to high rpm. Check injectors again, buy a stock RB20DET ECU and fit Nistune. Then tune engine on a dyno to remove the rich A/F ratio at mid to high rpm that should solve the fuel economy problems your having. Another way is to fit a adjustable FPR and drop the fuelpressure.RESPONSE MONSTER

Carbereted lines in a FI car can split after any given amount of time. Highly unsafe. Especially if it's near a hot exhaust manifold. I call it Natural selection for sports car owners
I don't see why everyone is telling the OP to get a tune when, clearly, there is a problem with his fuel/ignition system that should be solved first. A tune would be just a bandaid fix for the real issue at handLast edited by ZinnZ32; 02-22-2012, 05:39 PM.

well now i got much more to look at. its great getting many different peoples opinion, n all of you know more about skylines then just regular mechanics. thanks!!
and the guy at lordco is a buddy of mine who is very much so car savy n was checking the leak in the engine bay with me, and the clamps are the same style as the other ones. but i think the hose he gave me is too big. i tighten the crap out of it. ill go get a smaller size, but it does say fuel on the new hose.89 r32 sedan

I seen you ordered a new O2 sensor but have you replaced it yet??? What NTK #???
Has your local "skyline mechanic" checked your spark plugs after a little drive??? Looking for any plug thats different in colour than the others. What # plugs? and at what gap?
Is your TPS set correctly??? Maybe not hitting idle switch.
Have you checked your coolant temp sensor for the ECU??? Cold start fuel enrichment table still pumping in extra fuel if ecu thinks temp isnt what it is.
Also, you need to get a wideband.
A tune would help heaps, not just because your getting it tuned, but the tuner would be able to notice if any parameters are way off indicating a problem. Such as slightly out of wack MAF.
Fuel injection hose is designed to hold the fuel pressure that makes fuel injection work so well. Fuel hose is good for carbs and PCV systems only. And if we wanted to be real OEM wennies we need to get 7mm not 5/16, good luck finding in North America.
Quality "Fuel Injection Hose" is hard to get a hold of, for me at least. Bought injection hose from NAPA and it has cracks all on the outside after a couple months.
Tried to find OEM fuel injection hose, F-that, was like $1.50 an inch. So went to flea bay and bought Goodyear 5/16 J30R9 fuel injection hose.

so i got 340 km on this tank, best ive had on this motor so far, but not good enough for me to stop my effort to fix it. a few people will help me take a look at the timing and spark plugs and install the 02 sensor since i did not succeedand i got a new hose which is smaller the then previous one i had gotten, this time its 5/16 and it should for sure be better then something that was so big it could fall right off if wasnt tighten, unlike the oem they are nicely snug.
but i think that we will get somewhere. its a learning experience for me, and good call on coolant temp sensor, that was causing issues in my subaru legacy. do i ask for any nissan one or theirs a specific i can ask for at the dealership?89 r32 sedan

so the tank i got after fixing leak was 340,
this tank was 330....
still need to fix some stuff. not 100% if the leak is fixed for good, i got another fuel line, proper size this time. just tired of working in their that ive been lazy, hard to get at... and i cant get my 02 sensor out, bought the best penetrating fluid and the proper tool and no budgei even tried it really got. so ill have to get help.
and the coolant temp sensor isnt 300zx compatible.... i bought one, and took the one out of my old motor and not the same, well only difference if the plug.... it will thread it, but yeah, wont hook up... lame!89 r32 sedan

Ahh Feck. I gave you the wrong part #. I hope you can return it.
Take this one to Nissan when u return the sensor assuming you got it from there and its a RB20det.
22630-01U00 - Only compatible with RB20s and RB26s
Youll prob have to remove your dump pipe to get that O2 sensor out, 1st have you tried warming up the car to operating temp and removing the sensor after you shut it off. Just dont burn yourself.
PM me your email and VIN. Ill send you the Nissan Fast page and compatibility chart from Parts Master.Last edited by beacher1B0; 03-01-2012, 11:58 PM.

Last summer driving to work, I went through half a tank a day...roughly 100kms. I did notice quite a smell of fuel in the car, now that its been sitting over the winter I see it has leaked almost an 1/8 of a tank while on a slight angle. Im gonna take a look at it here in the next few days. Im thinking also replacing o2, as well as cleaning maf. I have heard venting bov to air can lead to rich conditions as well, would it be better to use stock recirc that is blocked off at the moment? With these gas prices going up, its a possibility that supreme plus 94 is gonna be close to $2 a litre this summer....
