  • Idle crash after Punching it.

Hey, so here is my dilemma today: after I romp on it a bit and come up to a light my cars idle tends to drop really low then come back up. And before a changed a vacuum hose my car has actually stalled before.... And as its it's idle, she's sort of rough. My "mechanic" seems to think it could be my timing or my need for a proper BOV, but I doubt him sometimes. Lemme know what you think??

First, what do you mean by "need a proper bov"? What bov are you running? Does your bov vent to atmosphere? If so, then your "mechanic" is right.

That stalling is caused by your maf calculating a quantity of air that isnt there because your bov let it out. Recirculating your bov will solve this.
I canz take this corner at 195k cause i gots AWDZ. Get real.

        exactly

or getting the ECU re-tuned for vented BOVs

Agreed but if your setup is still running the recirc valves then you need a new mechanic

Hey I might have the same problem. I've changed the cams and the bov's for atmospheric. I have some up an down on my idle. I know i have to tune it but i wanted to make sure it's not a bigger problem...

So a tune up would probably solve everything....?

I have the same problem as well, and I have cams as well, going to get a tune.

I have the same problem but it's extremely intermittent (only happened twice in a few weeks) and I'm bone stock. I heard the idle air control valve under the intake mani can cause this, as well as a miscommunicating Maf. What about the tps? Anyone solve this issue yet?
