i think that high quality wheels, like Volks or Nismo as stated, can make a thinner barrel since the wheel is stronger, thus allowing for fitment of bigger brakes
but for sure 355mm brakes wouldn't fit inside a cast 17" wheel
Thanks for the info guys!!! Now I'm just trying to decide whether its worth spending the $ on a Stopteck BBK or stick with my current set up and get some R33 DBA 5000 TCs.
Any input?
What do you want to spend. Thats Quite a difference in price... The BBKs would be great. Cant beat the price on their front kit. I think you can pick them up for around 2000. Compared to other front kits from Project Mu or AP costing upwards of 7500 bucks.

^ Personally i'd stick with your 324 if you're not going for more power. With only 3cms more radius you're not getting that much more counter-torque . Maybe R33 GTR calipers be a cost-effective alternative if you want more pressure? The stoptech are 4 pots right? The R33 units wouldn't be that different from the stoptechs (4 for 4 pot, and I'm sure OEM nissans maximize available cylinder space)

But y'know me and my opinions lol!
I completely agree with what you're saying however if I can get more pad area on the rotor AND the increase in torque it might be a worthwhile expenditure.
Apparently the Stopteck kit is designed to work well with the GTRs valving too.
I don't know if the car will be making more power this season or not. It depends on what the turbos end up being. Ive already started pulling the front off of the car and the front clip is getting resprayed (damn rock chips)
If they're just R34 turbos than there won't be a change. If they're steel turbine snails than there will be larger injectors and a small boost increase. I'd expect that to put the car closer to 370 whp.

I'm not terribly concerned with price so much as spending my money as effectively as possible. I'm not gonna buy something just on the assumption that more money=better.
If I spend $2k I want too see/feel a $2k difference.
I'd go DBA + R33GTR calipers, I haven't heard good stuff about stoptech for heavy tracking. If I were to guess, they'd be made of the same metal as AMS (china super special casted).
Why are you tearing the boost induction piping apart if you're just painting? Also, I've just noticed the air splitter between the rad support and intercooler... never seen that before (you lucky dog, again). Looks OEM, might explain why I've never seen one before (yours is just so minty).

EDIT: Wait, is that just the plastic wind splitter that's under the engine bay? If it is its the first thing that comes out when I work on mine and not a lot of people run them (can't understand why since they're aerodynamically beneficial)
Anyway it would explain why I never saw the "splitter" in between the rad and intercooler. If it is I'm happy to have found another advantage to keeping it around.
