What a total load of garbage Wayne!!

My job has nothing to do with Transport Canada. I do not work for them and other than submitting a couple of defect reports a few years ago, I have no contact with them.

My job is to enforce the Acts and Regs that we currently have in BC. I am not hindering anything to give anyone more time to do anything.

what you are saying is not "wrong", this is exactly what i beleived till very recently. the problem is BC TC is submitting a letter to be signed mid spring THIS YEAR. should this letter be signed then it will be an uphill battle from then on. yes it will still take some serious time to impliment the changes but we need to put a stop to this NOW if we can.

BC is being irrational in their ideas, their letter is based on twisted facts and stats which i have already pointed out here:

i have made excellent headway with the paper i am writting to Ottawa. we NEED suport so i suggest you go here and join up:

the more members we have the more power we can call upon.

You can use the headlights on USDM S14's. They are DOT approved. Doing this would make the Skyline compliant with regulations, but that still doesnt solve the problem at hand. Other JDM car's need to be approved as well, inspection shops need to start enforcing their inspections, and TC needs to cool down about importing cars.

if you replace the skyline headlight with OEM 240sx from 94-96 i think... it is a close fit and is the same manufacturer NISSAN. and DOT/SAE approved.

doesnt it state somewhere that it must be DOT from the same manufacturer? wouldnt that work?
From what I've read so far, there's nothing that states you cannot use headlights from another source. Hence why we've got DOT approved headlights on the way.

I also sent the e-mail to Mr. Taylor to express my concerns, especially on the clause of altering parts and get it registered, as it's banned according to current Motor Vehicle Safety Act. I have given an example of Lexus GS300 and its Japanese turbo variant: Toyota Aristo. Got DOT/SAE headlights swapped, parts available... a feasible practice. (other than swap a Supra 2JZ-GTE in it, which is more costly than getting headlights swap for sure!)

If 25-year-old is implied and that bloody clause ain't gone, we are all screwed. ><"

As a followup to another post I had made, I will repeat it here.

Don't bother contacting the people who work for the inspection facilities and ICBC.

Contact your MLA's and MP's directly.

Provide them with the legislation that exists and all the paperwork and information that you can. Let them know that this move is in place. (They don't know) These people are the ones that make the difference between allowing 15 year old cars into the country and banning them outright.

I am working with the politicians I know right now. And I am following up on it with them. The more people that do this, the more likely this gets stopped in its tracks.

Be truthful, be persistant, (don't be arrogant or abusive) include emails from Mike Woods, and others, as they work for the government, and hence, work for You. If they understand that this is a minor issue, (it really is) then they will fight for you.

Write them letters provide them with solid reasons that this move is unreasonable and they will follow through for you.

And, of course, do it now.

    FTW.
here is my suggestion, take it for what it is worth...
keep them registered, if you cancel the registration then you might get caught if you go to reregistered with ANOTHER inspection.

keep them insured, there is no reason to cancel covereage at this time. drive them as long as you are allowed (i would recommend someone find an american sold version that you can swap the drivetrains into should the worse case senerio happen.)

    cheers

And come to think of it...... if the province is as powerful as they claim with their vehicle regulations, why don't they just ban them themselves? it seems a little suspicious that they need Transport Canada to do it.........
