DOT tail lights

    sorry to bring back an old thread from the dead but what did you end up using for your tail lights to pass with mpi , im dealing with them now and its not pretty, i tried two sided taping 5 inch lenses over top of my stock lights, they said no lol

    so now im faced with finding an alternative solution

      i didnt think tailights were an issue anymore :\

          My brother got pulled in his SURF a couple months ago and had to get a V.I. He just changed his side markers and headlights. Taillights do not need to be DOT. the retard people there asked him about it and showed them a document about the Japanese taillights meeting/exceeding DOT.

            i've spoken with the HEAD of VI's about 10 times about it, he will not budge, doesn't' care taht bc and alberta dont do it, its manitoba he keeps saying, ur brother got VERY lucky then

              well, that really sucks then... id fight it to the end tho. as far as DOT tailights , i have seen round led trailer lights made by grote fitted into the r32 tailight housings.. i think mellisachequ's white GTR has them. maybe she can give you more info

                Yeah i TSS through trailer lights (lenses) on a gtst we had in the shop.. looked alright, but i would never bother.. they just screwed them to the stock light...

                  we are having troubles with mpi here and all this dot **** and so on but a friend just brought a gts here and he got tractor trailer lens from princess auto the lens in skyline taillights are 4.3inches and there are 4 inch ones so they almost fit all he did was put alittle weather stripping around them and they look half decent i wouldnt even bother thou i havent done anything to mine yet and prob wont

                    4.3 inches? r32 then im guessing? Cuz mine are like 5.25 inches
