anyway, I mean comon .. 16 000 km a 17yo car, why didn't you check the car yourself ? You should have done a compression test yourself and everything. Mileage doesn't mean anything, it all depends on how well the car was maintained. I'm sure that a 17yo motor that have 150 000km is probably in better shape then a motor that didn't run for a long long time. Why do you think taxi's can run for 400 000 km without having any troubles ?

Yes you can as long as you have the sales receipt that states 16k and that grading sheet that says 130k. also that kijiji ad would also help you. gather all this info and go see the guy and tell him to fix the situation or you will take him to court. 9/10 times, they will comply.

Wasn't JDMTuners in Calgary selling this? I remember back on beyond.ca they had another 89 GTR for sale like last year and was spotted getting rear-ended and totally denied it and well..got owned.

This situation is why I trusted J-spec when I got my car. What you see in the ad is what you get! People you never even meet and are acredited importers are more trust worthy than fly-by-night Canadian importers flipping cars for extra profits. Go to the source next time.

wow this sucks man sorry to hear about it...one thing i have always looked for when checking out the condition of a GTR is the paint chipping on the intake manifold..will usually be a good reference to show how many kms on it....it has always been a tell tale sign from my experience...although i know that some people have had different experiences mine have led me in that direction...on a good note though..thats a sick GTR...body wise :P

i have to agree theres no way that it actually had 16k on it, say if the speedo was a nismo then youd know it had been changed out(ie mine says 21k) i know
it has more than that ,im assuming that they have changed the speedo out to one with a lower km
the ad said it had 16k on it,that should have raised a red flag with you like it did with me when i read the ad awhile back
and it shouldnt have been advertised as such
what troubles me is that they are a member here in our forums,a business
posing as a member(whether intentional or not) but they are a business and
if they wish to continue to sell here
1 they should be honest
2 sign up as a sponsor
that being said from what ive read i would choose not to do business with them

Take him to court, if the sheets you found have dates and you can establish that the odo was tampered with here then you have a case. but try anyways, my odo says 101,000kms, on a 2nd motor, prolly not lagite kms but the car runs strong and is in good shape which is all that matters. but try and get your just deserves or make them take the car back.
