im with justin on this. every time i've been asked by a cop i just tell them about the HTA part and they dont bother me about it. sorry matty but this wont be the first time that someone at the MTO didnt know what they were talking about. i dont doubt that mike was told by someone at the MTO. but the question is does that guy know what he was talking about. you cant get any better proof than the actual HTA. HTA = the law, Guy at MTO = someone that "knows" procedures.

Every vehicle that is equipped with a right hand drive shall, unless it is equipped with a mechanical or electrical signal device as described in subsection 142 (6), have prominently displayed on the rear thereof, in bold face letters of not less than 50 millimetres in height and of a colour which is in contrast to that of the vehicle, the words,
“RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLE”.




and the following is from the section it refers to, section 142 subsection 6:


Requirements for signalling device

A mechanical or electrical signal device shall clearly indicate the intention to turn, shall be visible and understandable during day-time and night-time from the front and from the rear of the vehicle for a distance of 30 metres, and shall be self-illuminated when used at any time from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 142 (6).

i agree, though, that the RHD sticker is a good safeguard against tickets

simply in the sense that it will avoid unnecessary court trips

but i would imagine that a printout of the above sections ought to convince almost any cop

and if they don't then that is definitely a charge being laid in bad faith

I have only seen one skyline in canada with this sticker, and that was from the thread with the tranny/engine (dont remember which it was) swap done in the underground parking garage of a condo. personally, in a way I kind of like the idea of it, in a way. it would attract a lot of attention, good and bad. Idk, i personally wouldnt want it on, but then again, if its mandatory It wouldnt be the end of the world for me. I would get it airbrushed into my trunk, make it look half decent.
