There are 2 neons that come out every cruise night in winnipeg that make me laugh.

One is purple with underglow, decals and fart can. i dunno prolly some more hideous ****. but he always parks and sits by himself!

and the other one is like a custom lime green, with decals and this huge wavey spoiler...he's always wanting to race people.

well that "custom lime green " isnt actually custom... its known as NYG neon yellow green and it was a color offered by the factory, it was originally intended to be used for security vehicles... now its a sought after color as its rare...

as for the comments about neons being slow, or how did it go that fast... etc etc etc... for there class of car the neon is fast... it boasted more HP than any other car in its class at the time it was made... it has a very large following and there are many performance parts available for them... the SRT-4 improved upon the 1st gen neon's success...

i love how people rag on other car enthusiasts due to the car they drive... get over yourselves guys... you just make yourself look like a ricer fool...

as for the guy in the green neon trying to race everyone... dont blame his car, blame him

I almost traded my 3000gt into chrysler for an srt4 about 6 years ago when they first came out , i took it for a test drive and was actually amazed at how quick it was that was until ........ the off ramp came up on the 403 and i had to turn off , the ramp onto waynegretzky parkway has a pretty tight bend and i had the neon up on 2 wheels trying to corner like i would in my 3000gt . When i stoppped at the lights the dodge sales guy that came for the ride got out , came around to the drivers side and insisted on him driving back to the dealership . He went as white as a sheet ! .

The car was very fast in a straight line but didnt handle nearly well enough for it's intended purpose. the suspension was slack to the point of being dangerous on the bends and it was waaaaay too high , it could have been lowered 6 inches and still not look lowered.

i agree the stock suspension is not meant for any kind of spirited driving and needs serious upgrades...

the problem at hand though is not a RHD or a LHD issue is a DRIVER issue canadian drivers are amoung the worst drivers in the world, our certification program is a joke. on top of that is the issue of unsafe vehicles on our roads, you know the ones im talking about... vehicles that havent been properly maintained or inspected. there are far too many poor quality vehicles on our roads, and part of that is that there are far too many poor quality drivers on our roads driving them...

but what is the solution?

I wouldn't go that far. Go to China, Russia, or any amount of other countries, and you'll find FAR worse drivers. They essentially make their own rules as they go. But I do agree that our certification system is crap. "Here's your learners permit. Enjoy tearing up the roads in your rice rocket."

Driver's Ed needs to be mandatory for ALL drivers

I seriously think MPIC is run by morons! The p.o.s rust buckets with fenders flapping in the wind, mufflers dragging and blown shocks/broken springs with f'd bushings are a bigger concern to me and most other people than 3 letters on a lens. The friggin cops will pass 10 of these cars on a cruise night just to pull over a classic, custom, or jdm.

Us locals should try to get together and see if we can get a meeting with an official at MPIC and see if we can work something out with them so we don't have to butcher our rides to be compliant. Our bitching and griping here won't do us much good, but if we go as a unified group, we might get some results.

May I suggest we start talking about a get together first or second Saturday of the new year?

well apparently canada doesnt make the top10, but the usa and mexico do... russia doesnt make the list either... but the lists aside last time i checked canada was a destination for many immigrants from the majority of the top10 list countries, which makes us worse.... take into account the over 20million(and growing) vehicles on our roads at any given time, the seriously lacking driver certification programs, and the thousands of people who die and millions who get injured, and we are easily amoung the worst... if not the top10 the top 20 for sure...

still there is no easy solution to this growing problem...

I agree, thats a brilliant idea, if we go as a group with hard facts, and in a polite respectful manner they will have no choice but to listen to what we say....im not saying we will make them change their minds, but ...they will have to listen. on top of that if you are on hieghts we should make this an entire rhd thing in winnipeg im sure all the members would be down.

there is more to do with it then just rhds what about any cars that has a/m suspension or body kit it all a joke just cuz your car is say lowered a bit you deserve a 170$ fine and have to get it fix like wtf yes there is lots to do with rhds and the dot **** but if every car enthusiast had something to tell them maybe things would change
