i crossed just south of Montreal, musta been Vermont. They didn't ask me a thing about the car, just looked at me funny when i had to lean way over to give 'em my passport. It's all luck. But don't cross from Windsor to Detroit, they sent me to secondary inspection every time, even when I didnt' have the Skyline. The border security there is actually being sued by the ACLU for discrimination and excessive asshole-being

This is slightly off topic, however still sort of on topic. I'm looking at buying an '88 BMW E30 M3 from a guy in Vancouver. The car has the US sticker and a US VIN, however as far as I can tell it has always been a Canadian car. Its got metric gauges ect. Will I have to pay a duty on the car to bring it in, or since its leaving Canada, am I good to go? It currently has Ontario plates on it. Is there any paper work that I will have to file/fill out ect?
I wish I were trying to buy an R32, but its just not worth the hassle and effort. A 68K mile M3 however might be a different story.
Thanks,
Will

In this case, the color and interior are right, and its only got 110K km on it. Looking at the pics, its one of the nicest examples I have seen. Since we "have no winter" most of the ones here are pretty well hammered. They either have 150k+ miles on them, or they have been left out to bake in the sun, often both.
I'd rather have a R32 GTR, but since those are more than hard to import to the states, and even if you happen to have a legal one, it could be seized by our government, I'll look for something less exotic.
Now, if anyone has a '71 Skyline GT-X 2 door GT-R clone, lets talk. It would be a long trip home, but that I could import.

just how bad is the Windsor/Detroit bridge border? I'm wondering how bad I'd get hassled by the US-side with my R32 if I want to cruise around in Michigan...? And I'm assuming the return would be fine?1991 R32, 2860-5 turbos, build documented on gtr.co.uk, 700bhp on 110RON and 1.9 bars boost.

about a month ago. Car is still in Korea, and I don't want to sell it, and I don't think I can realistically keep it in storage for five years.1991 R32, 2860-5 turbos, build documented on gtr.co.uk, 700bhp on 110RON and 1.9 bars boost.
