  • Detailing my GTS-T

Hey all, just started working on the paint of the car I picked up last week. First Skyline, though I've always wanted one. Just working on the paint whenever I have time, so these posts might be broken up a bit. So far I've done the drivers door, front and rear fender, and trunk lid. Pleased that the paint on this car isn't super hard, makes it nice to work on! Anywho, here are the shots and process.

    Wash
    Clay
Meguiars M105 on an Edge yellow wool pad via rotary (sometimes 2x, depending on the depth of the marring in that area)
Optimum Polish on a LC white CCS pad
    Topped off with S100 carnauba.

When I'm finished the car, might get the S100 off, and do a couple coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze, then retop with S100.

    Befores:

    Afters:

Thats all I've done for now, hope that was somewhat entertaining

I'm suprise you could finish up with a hologram-free finish without any step between heavy compound and light polish.

Beautiful, I hope mine looks like that when it's done (only with a gtst front bumper). I did notice you're running 205 width tires, r32 gtr wheels call for 225's. Sure you can run 205's, but 225's look meaner :P

Thats why I love these edge wool pads and M105, has super cut and finishes down nicely. I should have taken shots just after M105, there is absolutely no haze whatsoever, just some light holograms. OP has some decent bite to it as well and finishes down LSP ready.

I know, I love how 225s look, but I got the car with these on em Brand new KDWs on the rear though, I can't complain.

how's the leg room with that steering wheel? I desperately need a new wheel and was thinking a deep dish wheel would give me more room with my long legs.

Its not too bad, I had a Nardi Deep Corn in my old RX7 so I'm used to the closeness of the wheel. You're right about the leg room, seems like theres a bit more. Heres an interior shot, in case it helps show you the space.

                    Your interior is mint!!!

Are those the stock seats? I like those better than mine, mine have a blue tint to them.

Do you have a tune to compensate your BOV?

Again its probably the lighting that makes that shot look so good haha. Yeah stock seats as far as I can tell. Stock ECU, just reset it after I bought the car, changed the timing back too, the guy who owned it advanced it soo soo far for some reason, was running like crap.

                        Ahh cool.

                        Looks good either way

                        Sounds great too

Do you have any issues with stalling with a vta bov and stock ecu?

                          Nope none at all.

Did the hood today, heres a before shot.

A 50/50 shot for CobrAA. Right is clearly untouched, the left is after compounding with M105. Pretty clear eh?

                          After

Quality is a bit lower on these shots, took em with my phone.

Alright, found a SWEET deal for some VS-XX! Should I go for em? I can't find any shots of any R32s with them. Anyone know of any?

I chopped them onto my car with a pic he had in his for sale thread.
