HIgher revs will launch you harder, your clutch is strong enough, just be aware that you are putting more stress on other parts though.......

Let it be known that if you are running anywhere near 400 whp and are considering upgrading your clutch that is not the only thing you should worry about.
The front differential has the tendency to grenade itself through the oil pan into your nice internals. Upgrade it to a 1/1.5 way.
then next, the transmission will start shearing gears clean with any upwards of 350 hp when you begin launching. Yes many get away with near 500 but dont be surprised it it pops.
Lastly if you are out of the territory of blowing a front diff(upgraded fix) then next thinkg to go will be the front prop shaft and axles. This is where the tq split controller comes in. They are actually made so that you can limit the tq going to the front. Have to avoid blowing parts up some how.
Now the last parts you have to worry about are the driveshaft and rear axles.
I have watched guys run 8's on stock rear axles and driveshafts.

Launching on 330 hp
Well, when I got my car, the guy claimed he had a sweet clutch in it, since he had fried the stocker while launching. So I trusted him. I launched the car at 2k RPM, 4k RPM and even 7k RPM to feel the difference. Well, 7k rpm launches against C-500 mustangs and Z06 corvettes was a little too addicting. 40-50 launches later ( plus whatever the seller had done) the slipping started. Anyways I ordered a nismo super copper twin and a few other upgrades for the clutch system. Anyways when we pulled the tranny off enough to see what was there, Wingnut knew it was a twin plate for sure. Later on after it was out, it turned out to be a OS giken twin (hence why it rattled like a civ). Anyways as sad and embarassing it was, lesson learned. I sure had fun launching and eating corvettes and 500hp mustangs at lights on a nearly stock set up was it worth another $2500+ clutch replacement after 10-14000km? It was awesome while it lasted and got lots of looks from the rear view but it's not gonna happen again any time soon. Anyways it's a bigger rush to race up hills with heavy corners or cat and mouse in non-residential areas (children, traffic and pedestrians aren't around) like industrial parks.
80% of the time I'm a grandma behind the wheel 20% I tickle the line between idiot and good driver. I think I need to start going to the track so I don't lose my licenseNo build thread.

Bruizer makes a good point.
If you're going to race your car, the track is the ONLY place to do it. If you choose to break the law, keep it off this board. We've worked too hard to build a culture of responsible enthusiasts to slip into discusisons of illegal activity.

lets say... i wanted to have a good clutch as a daily driven car.. BUT i would vsit the track/drag strip maybe once every 4-5 months..Originally posted by SnowThey should build an island in the shape of a race track, and then build the track under it. The right twin plate clutch will work fine on the street. Some rattle and bite like a pitpull on crack. (Mine falls into this category. ORC series 709 twin)
I've heard the Nismo coppermix twin drives very nicely on the street and will stand up to quite a bit of abuse.
Any other 'streetable' twin plates out there?

I have a question about launching, I dont know much about manual driving, I am just learning on my GTR.
When your launching and reving your engine to 3 - 3500 RPM
do you drop your clutch quickly, as in just drop your foot? or do you need to float around the friction point while your reving, and slowly engage the club as of moving it an inch a second type thing. what is the best way to go about this.
