  • Question about racing seats

I'm looking to get a new racing seat for my Skyline. I was just wondering what do you guys recommend? Also, a buddy of mine was talking about sizes of the seats. I looked on various websites and it seems like it's one size fits all for most applications. I'm 6'2 180lb. If anyone has these same general dimensions and like their seat, please let me know.

    Thanks

OMP makes good seats with a wide range of price points.
If I were picking up seats for a car I would definitely go with them.

Most companies sell a "plus size" seat.
OMP I think has their "BIG" seat.

Sparco has a Rev PLUS, etc etc.

hmm anything FIA approved? I'm not gonna bother going aftermarket unless its FIA approved.

then you would want OMP or Sparco both Fia approved depending on what seat you get but there will be + size FIA seat available from both

In order to be FIA approved they must be a Bucket non-reclineable seat.

I hope your ok with a fixed position seat for daily driving.

So if I'm not plus sized, any of the regular seats should fit then?

Bride Zeta III type L, can get seat rails for gtr from them too so you don't have to use a "universal" rail like the ones that Sparco sells. The seats are also FIA approved.

Cobra seats has an FIA approved bucket as well, the Susuka S. Comes with a large size option. Seat rails available as well.

Also pretty sure the bracket has to be up to spec too. Ie: no sliders - to the best of my knowledge.

                      I could be mistaken.

drill holes so you can mount your seat further back... lowmax are pretty good.

You'd be correct. If it's in the budget get a cage built, and have seat mounts built into the cage design.

Yes the car is going to be fully caged so I will do it all at once. The car is going to be a track slut so im not too worried about practicality.
