those are light!! not my kind of look (I like thicker spokes) but still very nice. Are they expensive if someone needed a set for track use (unlike TE37s or something) or are they expensive to replace (600+ each?)

The SSR Type C's I just picked up for the Silvia came fitted with these very fresh Toyo R888's. I dont have alot to say about them, only ran them on the street so far. Shall have their first outing on the track either at Fuji or Ebisu in the months to come.
Anyone on board have experience with them? Chime in please!
A guy with a Bullit Mustang was running R888 with good success. He came in first in a very competitive class. To get the best out of R888 in the dry, they need to be shaved. If you don't shave them they are better in the wet.

Dan, we expect a full update and review of your choice! haha, which way have you sided?
There's a set of BFG R1's in my garage. I'll post up impressions when I've got a couple of track days under my belt.
I have no doubt there are some really great street tires that would be close, and I'll be giving them a try - on the street, or even on the track after I establish a baseline with the R1's.
No street tires will touch the R1 on a dry track, not even close. Now that you have gone Rcomp there is no going back. A club member calls them Hoosier Crack.
You may only want to use them on the street to scrub them, other wise I do not recommend street use at all.
